Some people can be super egotistical, but a lot are fun and nice and give you cookies and stuff. Free food is everywhere, and there are flyers with opportunities up and down the street.

There are some new houses that are nice in Heritage. Helaman is kinda a drag. Old housing in Heritage is okay.

Provo is dry and boring. There are some dancing clubs and a mock-tail club, and University is usually really cool at night, but everything fun is a good 20 minutes away

All the computers are up to date and, while some days during some hours it is hard to find an open spot, they usually clear up soon. WiFi printers, WiFi for your own personal laptop.

You have to have super on top grades and must be willing to keep them - no matter what. You also have to stay on top of things, like credit hours, taking to the officer, and studying all the time.

We have a lot of great sports here at BYU and they are very highly supported by the students.

You have got to go to Tuchanos some time it is the best place you will ever eat and it is all you can eat.

There is a great variety of weather patterns. They never get in the way of classes or activities, and it keeps things exciting.

Health & Safety:
The security is pretty good, but I always am extra cautious leaving campus going south. There isn't much going down that way and not much lighting either.

The Cougareat has Subway, TacoBell, a burger place, a pizza place (my fav) a salad place, and an a la carte area. The Cannon Center is basically a buffet - the best are the Raspberry Rolls and the Self-made Waffles. There's also two nicer restaurants on campus, but save those for date nights.

It is difficult, but the intention is to weed out people who don't have the motivation to follow through or make a significant contribution to the program during their time here. I'd say, if this is where you're supposed to be, you'll be able to figure out a way to make it work.

There are tons of great majors here with people to help you. The only thing I wish were better was having no major. There's a pressure to make a decision and stick with it, and knock out classes and credits in order to graduate. So if you can pick a program, you are already off to a great start.

I'm currently a Journalism Premajor. All the professors I have had have spent years as professionals in journalism and broadcasting. Class sizes are small and teachers are happy to be teaching. There are tons of opportunities on campus to hear from visiting professionals and alumni who have succeeded in the field. BYU has a great reputation, and if you put some effort into networking, you have a great chance of going somewhere.

BYU has great athletic programs and student athletic facilities and programs. All gyms, pools and sporting equipment is free for students. Also, our competitive teams rank among some of the best in the country.

Because the city mostly revolves around the university, there are a lot of unique places to eat both on and around campus.

It's a Latter Day Saint school, so the "night life" is rather limited. If you are willing to do things that don't involve alcohol then there is plenty that you can find around town to do.

The science and engineering programs are top notch. The professors are great and the programs really prepare you for careers and graduate school. In addition, BYU is in the top 10 for admissions to both medical school and graduate school.

Students are required to follow the honor code, which doesn't allow drugs or alcohol.

The academic programs are on par with other top schools. The science and engineering programs in particular are highly ranked and prepare students for careers and graduate school.

Academics are very serious at BYU. The professors are well versed in their material and know their stuff. Students are expected to work hard, and if they don't they'll have to suffer the consequences. The general education requirements are a bit tedious and difficult, but the curricula set up for each major are very well done.

Provo is a tiny town full of college students who are mostly members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons). The standards of the Church prohibit drinking, smoking, and other self-destructive activity. There are plenty of safe and wholesome campus activities, but not much that most of the world would recognize as "nightlife".
College Sophomore 2012-12-31T08:17:14Z
Facilities on campus are nice. The buildings are well-maintained, staff members are helpful and kind, and there are always campus activities going on. Campus has a nice vibe and you can find all kinds of people.

It's overpriced for what it is, if you stay in Helaman. Try to get a spot in New Heritage.
College Sophomore 2012-12-31T08:15:33Z
I love all of the facilities, except for the practice rooms in the music school building. Those are passable, but less than ideal.

I understand most of the rules but some of them are a little bit unreasonable, such as guys/girls visiting hours in the dorms.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
