Snowy days are challenging. They are good about clearing the walks and parking lots on campus. The rest of the year the weather is great.

That's why you choose this school - for the values.

Clean dorms. A variety of food plans available. Lots of activities you can be involved in. Updated dorms. They are building new ones and renovating all the time. Easy walk to class from most of the dorms.

Living on campus is a lot like high school. There is not really a variety of people. There is a lot of restriction to socializing because the curfews do not run as late as off campus housing and in the New Heritage housing, the place is not really set up to socialize except for in your own dorm. Heritage Halls is typically a better place to dorm because I've heard many complaints from people at Helaman about the food at the Cannon Center.

The Utah weather is definitely cold and full of snow in the winter, but BYU usually always has the walkways clear. The campus is really big so it can take a while to reach a class when it's snowing or raining but it's not too bad.

I think the scholarship process is a bit confusing. It's not totally clear where to apply for scholarships. The competition is also so tuff that it is hard to get a scholarship.

BYU dining is pretty good. The dining centers are usually really crowded but there are a lot of options in the Cougar Eat and there are many vending machines around campus.

It is really snowy and cold in provo, UT. Sometimes it inhibits your desire to actually walk to class.

The professors are very knowledgeable and care about there students and there grades. Classes are extremely demanding, but usually worth it in the end if you put in the work.
College Senior 2012-12-26T20:05:17Z
The campus is gorgeous and the spirit of education there is valued very highly. People there care about you and your success and there are a lot of different opportunities to meet people and become involved in something that you enjoy doing.

As a dietetics student there is a lot of opportunities for hands-on experience and to work with others in the program to complete projects. You learn how to work and communicate with others as well as to network.

This summer I plan on travelling to Fiji with Help International and getting internship credit from teaching nutrition there for 2 months. The people in the internship office are really helpful when it comes to inquiring about hos to go about it.

As a dietetics major I am generally very happy with my program and the people in it. I love the professors, they are helpful and receptive when I have questions. Sometimes the classes seem a little disorganized, but I like how close I am to the girls in the program.

The academics at BYU are great. A lot is expected of the students there but the professors are very knowledgeable and so are the TA's. The registration process is painless and easy. BYU has one of the best and coolest libraries in the country. It is a popular place to go study. Often times you will find students sprawled out of the grass studying.
College Sophomore 2012-12-26T16:30:39Z
There are a lot of students from different countries and I have never seen a problem with the students accepting them. Because it is a religious school it is more conservative in general but there are lots of students with their own beliefs.
College Sophomore 2012-12-26T16:27:22Z
This is a great major at my school. A lot of the professors are involved in research and have published material. They are available to help you out. The workload is average and doable. There are always internship opportunities available.
College Sophomore 2012-12-26T05:37:55Z
There are lots of places to eat with huge variety. Most places are pretty low cost and have great environments.
College Sophomore 2012-12-26T03:15:10Z
There are so many programs and always someone available to help. So much diversity :D

I live in the Wyview Apartments. The social life isn't as crazy as the dorms are but the people there are amazing. It's usually quiet but can also get crazy on some nights ;)
College Sophomore 2012-12-26T03:03:17Z
I dont go out to eat much, but when I do Cafe Rio is the way to go haha

Provo and the area around is awesome! If there's not anything going on in P-Town, then there's some awesome stuff to do in Orem (the town right over), especially Disco Skating Saturday nights ;)
Sorry, there are no reviews.
