Guys & Girls:
The students at BYU are the best of the best. They are friendly, clean and neatly dressed, happy and hardworking.

The on-campus housing is so fun but the dorms in Helaman Halls aren't very nice.

Some of the best facilities in the nation. BYU dos a good job of having state of the art facilities, especially in the engineering departments.

Provo is a college town, because of this any off campus housing is very expensive. It isn't necessarily hard to find but because landlords know there will always be people that will rent from them they end up not caring how their apartments look.

Provo is a fun town, with lots of hangout locations from live local bands at muse music cafe to your fun family bowling lot at mad cats. The students are a majority of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and have a strict set of school rules that are inline with their strong standards.

There isn't much need for transportation locally, everything is close enough to walk to. The bus system goes locally for pretty cheap. However, Long distance transportation is kinda lame. They should have a form of shuttles or lightrail between colleges due to many in close range and constant trips in between.

The majority of colleges in the US are predominantly white in general but Brigham Young University picks a VERY diverse group of students. Not only do we have the normal three ethnicities: White, African American, and Latino like me, but plenty of international students ranging from Pacific islander, European, African, and Asian. I've visited over 12 colleges along the east coast ranging from FSU to NC state. Going from there to BYU is black in white as far as acceptance. At BYU people go out of there way to talk to you, make you feel good and welcome. Something I cherish because in Highschool it was a little rough being the only Hispanic in an all white school and area. As far as Political views they are more Conservative, yet they have politcal science teachers that are leaders of the democratic party in Utah so that also is diverse. Sexual orientations of all kinds are very accepted here. LDS belief is marriage between a man and woman but many Homosexual orientated students attend here happily and more than welcomed. The atmosphere is more friendly than I have ever seen in a college. The school tends to have typically wealthy students which can be hard sometimes if you come from poverty but there is never hard feelings between social classes.

In the main library, located in the center of campus, the computers are still in recent models, but no where near the new lines out. However, Select labs and classrooms however have state of the art apple computers with paper thin screens and one click mouses; the whole shabang.

Lots and lots of housing - you're sure to find one. And there's pretty much always a place to park. The landlords around here tend to be terrible but I can't be sure how common that is. You can find really cheap and expensive but it honestly doesn't get much higher than 500 a month, and that's the classy places.

Drug violations can get you kicked out immediately, there's really not much mercy on that front. Sexual violations can also get you kicked out but apparently if you're an athlete you get more mercy. There are warnings if you are found with the opposite sex in your room, but if you are caught doing something bad, the chances of getting out of it are slim. However, we do have an honor code so there's a reason why you come to BYU and you make a promise to obey the rules.

There isn't much diversity; There are many white people but I think the campus does a good job of making sure ethnic minorities are able to share their heritage and make friends with people from many countries. Politically, there's a decent population of liberal people but they aren't politically active so it's hard to notice that they really do exist. Economic backgrounds are hard to see because most people look well on the outside but i've met plenty of people who don't have their college paid for as well as many who come from wealthy families. Religously- we are a mormon school, so there's no more than about 2,000 students who aren't mormon out of 36,000.

There are always a ton of computers open everywhere. They are super easy and convenient. Sometimes they have new programs installed that take awhile to work but once they do, they are super fast.

We have an Honor Code that we agree to live by to come here. The Honor Code is fairly strict compared to other schools, but for the most part it consists of things that people at BYU wouldn't/shouldn't be doing anyways. I actually enjoy the Honor Code. However, sometimes authority on campus is unneccessarily strict.
College Sophomore 2012-11-14T00:14:35Z
BYU campus is fairly diverse with international students and even minority groups. Obviously there is still a majority of caucasian students, but they come from all over the US not just Utah.

Guys & Girls:
I fit right into the BYU stereotype, so obviously I will think that the students deserve this grade. We are generally focused and determined to succeed, unlike some other campuses that I have either been a part of or visited.

Religion classes are required. I realize that most people don't agree that this is a good thing, but it is something that everyone must study during the week, not just on Sunday, to maintain a good lifestyle.

They are quality computers, but there are so many students. It's sometimes hard to find an open desk.

Many assortments of restaurants for decent prices, all in close vicinity of campus and off-campus housing.

Parking at BYU is nearly impossible! Especially in the winter when all the bicycle riders start bringing their cars because it's too cold. That and you need to have a parking pass, which isn't always easy to purchase as a college student.

During the summer it's usually nice outside, but on many occasions it can get super hot! Not really a hunid kind of hot, but a really dry heat. It is absolutely GORGEOUS in the fall though, all the leaves change colors on the mountains and it just makes everything look so warm. Then there is the winter. Oh my goodness, it snows eight to ten inches in one day. That and it's freezing all the time! It does look really pretty though.

The dining hall has a wide variety of foods to choose from. Many of the more popular foods such as Subway and Taco Bell, and then there are the other, more healthy options such as the salad and soup bars. And it's all located in one hall so you don't have to really go searching for what you like to eat.

Brigham Young University is an LDS college and is funded by the LDS church. The nightlife here consists of flashlight tag and movie nights where we watch the RM. Bars and clubs here are next to none, unless they are dry clubs or alcohol-free.
College Sophomore 2012-11-11T00:25:04Z
It's very much a college town, with lots of places to eat. There are millions of restaurants to go to. The outdoor life is also gorgeous, lots of hiking, sking, and very pretty scenery.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
