In old heritage, where I live, there is not nearly enough parking for the need that is presented.
College Sophomore 2012-11-11T00:18:36Z
Transportation is available, but somewhat confusing.

It's hard to take advantage of the resources if you work part-time. That's why I want a scholarship.

Health & Safety:
I walk home alone at 10:30 at night and I feel safe. It's well lit

There are a vast amount of computer labs on campus and printing is very accessible. The internet is in all buildings and has been very reliable. Many students do use their own personal computers more for convenience of location; to be where they want to be instead of having to be in a computer lab or library.
College Sophomore 2012-11-09T03:10:26Z
Buses pass by in many locations and it allows students to travel for long distances if desired.

The Honor Code that all students have to sign when accepting admittance to BYU expressly forbids any use of drugs or alcohol, so no one uses any, and if they do, there are VERY few. If anyone is caught using them, they risk suspension for breaking the Honor Code. It's really nice.

Many of the professors are very willing to work with you when you have questions in class. Some of the workloads are a bit much sometimes, but this is a very prestigious school, so that's to be expected. I also appreciate how easy it is to register for classes.

Health & Safety:
I can count the number of unlit walkways around campus on one hand. As a girl, and sometimes needing to walk home alone at night, I feel very safe. Lit walkways, police callboxes, and an escort program for when you do feel uncomfortable walking home at night, all create a sense of security.

Lots of fun restaurants! Sammy's, the Malt Shop, Brick Oven, Pizza Pie Cafe, Panda Express, lots of incredibly delicious mexican food restaurants... and that's only in the very close vicinity. Get into the Salt Lake area and possibilities are endless for foodies.

Provo is a fun place to be. There are great movie theaters, salsa and country dancing clubs, restaurants and cafes, music scenes and concerts, and shopping around. The area is also very very safe. I know people who hardly ever remembered to lock their front door and were not worried. Honestly. Super low crime. Also, there are so many BYU students that most of the population surrounding BYU are students! And non-students either want to go to BYU or are alumni.

Ever since I got here, I've never even smelled a cigarette on campus. It's extremely anti-drug and anti-alcohol here. There's really strong peer pressure against doing anything like that. It's not perfect, there are incidents, but generally, this is a drug-free school.
College Sophomore 2012-11-06T22:29:27Z
It seems like there's always tons of stuff happening on campus. but if you're looking for something off campus, there are plenty of things to do. Plus, if the BYU crowd isn't always to your liking, the University of Utah is really close by and Salt lake is only 45 minutes away. The people in Provo love BYU.

Its a religious and private school so its very strict
College Senior 2012-11-06T21:24:26Z
They keep the grounds beautiful but they need better and more parking as well as more food selection and cheaper
College Sophomore 2012-11-06T07:18:11Z
Technically, BYU isn't very strict about any of the rules that we are required to follow - unless you are an athlete - but that's because it is supposed to be on your honor. And for the most part, I don't think we have any problems.
College Sophomore 2012-11-06T07:16:02Z
Transportation around BYU is pretty good - they have buses that run about three times an hour, plus a shuttle that goes straight to and from certain housing areas at convenient times.

If I could do it again I'd get higher grades to get into a more competitive major.
College Senior 2012-11-06T03:59:16Z
My major had no application process getting in. It was very simple.

Computers are good. There are PC's and Macs, in a lot of locations. There are some times when they can be scarce - During Tuesday Devotionals. But usually you can always find one.
College Senior 2012-11-03T23:32:10Z
There are tons of opportunities to participate in or watch sports on campus. There are many different physical activities classes offered each semester as well.
College Senior 2012-11-03T23:28:49Z
There are plenty of computers on campus if you know where to go. There is a computer lab on most levels of the library and in various buildings across campus. Both black & white and color printing are the same price.
College Senior 2012-11-03T01:14:27Z
There is no Alcohol or drugs on campus. There are no strip clubs or anything like that either. Its a mormon community. There are clean parties with fun and clean games, etc.
College Senior 2012-11-03T01:11:44Z
There are good places to eat on campus that provide a wide variety of food. If you live off campus, there are plenty or restaurants near by. There is a lot of foreign food around as well.
College Senior 2012-11-03T01:10:05Z
BYU is a religious school and the students that go there agree to live by an honor code. It is a very clean and respectful environment.
