They keep the grounds beautiful but they need better and more parking as well as more food selection and cheaper

Technically, BYU isn't very strict about any of the rules that we are required to follow - unless you are an athlete - but that's because it is supposed to be on your honor. And for the most part, I don't think we have any problems.

Transportation around BYU is pretty good - they have buses that run about three times an hour, plus a shuttle that goes straight to and from certain housing areas at convenient times.

If I could do it again I'd get higher grades to get into a more competitive major.

My major had no application process getting in. It was very simple.

Computers are good. There are PC's and Macs, in a lot of locations. There are some times when they can be scarce - During Tuesday Devotionals. But usually you can always find one.

There are tons of opportunities to participate in or watch sports on campus. There are many different physical activities classes offered each semester as well.

There are plenty of computers on campus if you know where to go. There is a computer lab on most levels of the library and in various buildings across campus. Both black & white and color printing are the same price.
College Senior 2012-11-03T01:14:27Z
There is no Alcohol or drugs on campus. There are no strip clubs or anything like that either. Its a mormon community. There are clean parties with fun and clean games, etc.
College Senior 2012-11-03T01:11:44Z
There are good places to eat on campus that provide a wide variety of food. If you live off campus, there are plenty or restaurants near by. There is a lot of foreign food around as well.

BYU is a religious school and the students that go there agree to live by an honor code. It is a very clean and respectful environment.

It was straightforward and simple to apply for the BYU scholarships and in my Financial Aid account I got some loans to cover the rest of my expenses.

I am in the Economics major and I love it. It is hard work, but rewording. There is always help available at the labs for when one blanks on a question or has trouble grasping something discussed in a lecture. After one is finished with the beginning courses, one is able to become a teaching assistant, research assistant, or find a decent off-campus job that looks well on a resume. Because of these opportunities and the quality of the teachers, it prepares one well for graduate, law or business schools. The professors are also great at helping one network and find the right people to get to the right places.

Health & Safety:
I usually feel very safe. It is a nice campus with enough people and security to feel comfortable. Most crimes are bike robberies, so lock yours up! The people are healthy because of the high standard of living. Although you may think it is Utah and super safe, never walk alone at night or early in the morning...chances are not worth taking.

BYU students sign an Honor Code upon admission stating that they will obey the standards outlined for them. Including a curfew, dress standards, no drinking or smoking as a student, no cheating etc. It may be strict but it makes for a great environment to learn and grow.

Not as easy as you think, but if you call someone and have them work it through with you, it makes things go a lot more smoothly.
College Senior 2012-10-29T03:02:42Z
Campus takes rules and regulations very seriously, especially the honor code.

The art history major is open and the teachers there are amazing. I wish the there were a few more opportunites for scholoarships but other than that BYU is amazing and competitive and a great experience.

BYU has a very extensive network of International Programs to try. It is very impressive. You can go to at least 30 different countries on different types of programs. They have everything from study abroad to field study, individual experiences to big groups, research, and so much more! They try really hard to make it possible. We have a whole building just for international studies. We also have a travel office just for setting up your flights and travel while abroad. If you can dream it, you can do it.

I thought it was really easy. I applied for the simple academic scholarship and was able to get a large scholarship for a year with little to no effort. You have to reapply every year but the process is straight forward and easy.

The Labs are pretty good and never really crowded. The internet can be a little slow on them at times and the labs aren't always in the most "convenient" locations (ie. up on the 4th floor or something) so it makes it a bit of a hassle to try and get to them if you quickly need to print something off. That being said, I have never had to wait to use one when I get there.

I think the weather is great! I love the snow and being so close to the mountains! It is one of the most beautiful places on earth. With a ski resort only 20 minutes from campus it is ideal for any snow loving person.

Utah weather is kinda crazy, especially in winter. It can be sunny, rain, hail, snow, and go back to sunny all in one day. If you have layers, a decent coat, and good shoes, then you should be okay walking to and from campus though. Just be careful on the snow and ice.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
