How Far to Go? There are plenty of options. However, many of the nicer dining locations off-campus are not within walking distance of the majority of the student body (who live fairly close to campus). If you have a car they can easily be reached, but otherwise it is a bit time consuming.

Clean Environment – BYU is a great learning environment. The students have all agreed (through means of an honor code) to behave certain ways. This includes but is not limited to academic and life honesty, abstinence from sex, drugs, and alcohol. If you really want to focus on your schooling and not worry about these things, BYU is very likely the best place for you.

Guys & Girls:
Wonderful People – The students at BYU are usually very friendly and fun to be around. It is, of course, possible that you will find people you don't perfectly get along with, but as long as you aren't actively being inconsiderate they will usually be friendly and willing to get to know you. I've met some of my very best friends here. Some areas are, however, much more social than others which at times makes it difficult to get away and start studying.

Landscape Managment – Landscape programs vary. I love the one offered by BYU. In this program students are taught design, construction, and maintenance relating to both landscapes indoors and outdoors. We are able to work closely with the grounds department and the instructors are always friendly and willing to help in any way they can. The only thing I could wish differently is that there was a greater emphasis on design.

While the campus "cougareat" (or dining area) does provide a fair amount of variety, I am not particularly fond of it. Many students like to take a lunch brake at the cougareat which leads to crowded lines and tables for a few overpriced meal options. I prefer to go to the creamery and pick out some fresh fruit.

Guys & Girls:
Attractive but Stuck up – The girls here are not interested in getting laid. No, really. After they do anything, they'll pretend it never happened and you're back to square one.

Health & Safety:
Police Force Out to Get You – The cops here are out to get you. Don't party or you'll spend time in jail waiting to get processed, which takes forever. Despite being interested in busting parties, they do very little to make the school safe otherwise.

Ridiculously Strict – Having fun is prohibited at Bringham Young. There is no academic freedom, no parties, nothing to do on campus. Bringham Young is only good if you enjoy twiddling your thumbs sitting in your room wondering what to do at 10 pm.

I mean, I like being able to have good parking, and they have it, but it's kind of expensive and it's almost faster to just run or bike across campus rather than mess around with the permits, finding a spot, locking up, etc.

I love the nightlife because it's all appropriate! There are so many dance clubs to go to and random get togethers that are open admittance that I can't help but have a great time. The campus is dry, so I don't have to worry about breaking the rules and can have a great time.

Great Science, Dance, and Religion – BYU has great research opportunities that I've noticed. The religious classes are very informative and the General Education program provides a good core before you enter into a major.

There are so many options for off-campus housing at BYU. BYU lists approved off-campus housing online so that it is easy to find available options. There are apartments, duplexes and houses. It is no hard to find a place to live close enough to campus that you don't need a car.

The cougar-eat is a great place to grab a bite between classes. The service is always quick, even though it's usually crowded. This is great since everyone is always in a hurry to get to class. There are all the fast food options available, and always plenty of places to sit. It's right in the middle of campus, which makes it quick and easy to get to during a busy day.

Does Not Encourage Other Modes of Transport – Parking is free, but highly limited, while other forms of transport are discouragde due to exorbitant rates (public transport) or lack of facilities (e.g. bike lanes). Because most students live off campus, this becomes a tremendous problem.

Labs are accessible and printing, though expensive, is readily available. Connection speed is average, but lab aids are helpful. Library lab is far too crowded during devotional.

Honor Code – We have an honor code that we sign which commits us as student to not do drugs or drink. I am only a freshman, but I have not witnesses any drug or alcohol use the two semesters I have been here.

Not Bad Considering – We may not have the greatest diversity, but considering that we are a private Christian school, we have an extremely large number of international students and ethnicities.
College Junior 2012-01-27T00:37:39Z
Nice, Clean, Accessible – The facilities on campus are extremely clean and accessible. Some of the buildings are older and are not the most aesthetically pleasing, but overall the campus is the most clean I have ever seen and very well kept up. The library is ever-expanding and has a plethora of rooms and areas in which to study, tailored to your noise preference level. Great place.

Very Crowded – It is extremely crowded and you can't get away with parking violations. You will get a ticket. Best just to walk or take the bus. Most people walk. Even if you are handicapped good luck.

BYU has a very strict code of conduct. However there is no campus gestappo to enforce it. Out of religious conviction most students simply follow it. Some don't, but this is not very visible.

Amazing Library and Extremely Clean Campus – Few libraries compare to BYUs. So many resources, classes to help you with research and assignmnets. On top of that it is a beautiful campus that is always spotless.

Fans Are Amazing! Faces painted, crowds gathered by the hundreds or even thousands, cheering so loud and hard your voice hurts the next day; every fan that walks through the gate is ready and pumped as if they were about to play the game their self.

Socially, Academically, and Recreationally Perfect – I love the atmosphere there! So many new faces, things to do all around town, and so much to learn!

My Student Life – I have obtained an education that is irreplaceable. I feel like I will use it throughout my life. However, I thought that college would be more fun. I am surrounded by students who are constantly focused on their school work and use days that there is no school to catch up or get ahead on their work.

There is a great variety of food around campus for a variety of prices. A student/visitor could find just about anything he/she wanted to eat somewhere on campus. However, the price may not be ideal. The cafeteria is too expensive unless a student has a meal plan, which are over priced as well.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
