It's Awesome Here – This is an awesome environment to learn. I love everything about it!

Pretty Good Teams – Our athletics do well for the investment we put into them. Games are well-attended, but many students don't get the memo of what color to wear, what chants to do, etc. There is also wide involvement in intramurals.

Ugly Campus, Great Atmosphere – The overall aesthetic of the campus is ugly. Facilities are average at best, but everything in immaculately maintained. But what it lacks in appearance it makes up for in character.

On Your Honor – BYU students are expected to accept and adhere to a strict Honor Code restricting alcohol consumption, illegal drug use, and premarital sex among other things like practicing clean grooming. The students are held to observance of the rules on the honor system. It is a highly successful system.

They Want You Here – Provo, UT has a smaller town feel and it can fit the idea of a college town. There is a lot of cheap entertainment and many events that cater to the college aged with several shopping malls and restaurants conveniently located and accessible. BYU is loved in this community!

More for Less – Brigham Young University has a reputation of very strong and challenging academics. It is a private school that is subsidized by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which allows students that are members of the LDS church and those that are not alike to attend and live and study in an environment that is demanding of high character and wholesome living. There is a strong science and research base of the curriculum and professors which prepares students to succeed in rigorous post-graduate studies and, using the extensive alumni network, significant contribution in any workplace.

Good but Can Get Old – The is a wide variety of foods for people to choose from. The food at the dining hall is good, but can get old really fast because there isn't much variety and they rotate through their menus so you don't often experience something new. But outside the dining hall, there are plenty of other good options to choose from, whether you want something cheap and fast or you want something on the fancier side.

Living for the Better – Brigham Young University has made my life better in more ways than I can comprehend. The opportunity to stretch myself in different aspects- intellectually, physically, emotionally, spiritually and socially has helped me become the person I am today. Before coming to this school, I was confused in many different aspects of my life, but those questions have been resolved, and my understanding strengthened because of the concepts I have been taught. To have this experience, I have learned to live the Law of the Harvest- to put in the required amount of work to achieve the desired outcomes, whether they be grades or scholarships.

The Honor Code – BYU proudly holds to its Honor Code, a high standard of living that all those attending BYU must live by. The Honor Code is enforced to keep the learning environment clean and wholesome so that improper distractions are lessened. For some individuals, the Honor Code may seem like an imposing hinderment to their personal rights of expression, but to the majority of those on BYU's campus, the Honor Code is an expression of an inner commitment to be better individuals in every aspect of life.

Fairly Diverse, Fairly Treated – BYU has a richly diverse population, including those from across the nation and world, with all types of religious background, with the majority of those being white individuals belonging to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There is a lack of prejudice and discrimination. Resources are equally available to everyone, and opportunities are constantly being presented to further your educational experience.

Great School – I love my school. It has its flaws, but it suits me. People don't drink, which allows them to establish meaningful relationships, and focus on their studies. There are so many students that you can always find your niche, and the professors may just be the nicest, most approachable professors in the world. Sure the campus is ugly, and public transport non-existent, but I can forgive that.

Campus Transport – If you don't have a car, good luck getting around in Utah. Public transport is expensive, and coverage is poor. There are no other alternatives. Next year, there may possibly be a passenger rail line extended to Provo, so there is hope for the future.

Clean Cut – I love the social scene here. Everyone has high values and morals, and is very friendly. We all want to be at college and get an education, but still know how to have fun. (And we remember it in the morning). There are some amazing programs that do spectacular things that give me a sense of pride in my school.

Just Say No – Drugs are virtually unheard of here. Thats pretty much it.

Library Is the Bomb – I love the library. Its huge, has tons of good books, but is also the go-to place to study. Social areas to study in, private desks or rooms, it has it all. The librarians are super helpful and knowledgeable too

Cute Guys! The guys are pretty cute. There are a lot of cute nerds and a lot of the hipster type.

Health & Safety:
Totally Safe – I feel very safe on campus. The pathways leading from campus are well lit. I have never felt unsafe on campus. I've never been robbed or pranked.

Health & Safety:
Since there is an honor code kids do not often cause much trouble. In addition it is very rare that anything dangerous happens on campus. The most dangerous thing is crossing the street when the light says stop.

Safe and Secure – BYU is one of the best schools to attend if you want to avoid drugs and alcohol. I've never encountered anyone attending BYU who has done either since they began studying at BYU.

How Far to Go? There are plenty of options. However, many of the nicer dining locations off-campus are not within walking distance of the majority of the student body (who live fairly close to campus). If you have a car they can easily be reached, but otherwise it is a bit time consuming.

Clean Environment – BYU is a great learning environment. The students have all agreed (through means of an honor code) to behave certain ways. This includes but is not limited to academic and life honesty, abstinence from sex, drugs, and alcohol. If you really want to focus on your schooling and not worry about these things, BYU is very likely the best place for you.

Guys & Girls:
Wonderful People – The students at BYU are usually very friendly and fun to be around. It is, of course, possible that you will find people you don't perfectly get along with, but as long as you aren't actively being inconsiderate they will usually be friendly and willing to get to know you. I've met some of my very best friends here. Some areas are, however, much more social than others which at times makes it difficult to get away and start studying.

Landscape Managment – Landscape programs vary. I love the one offered by BYU. In this program students are taught design, construction, and maintenance relating to both landscapes indoors and outdoors. We are able to work closely with the grounds department and the instructors are always friendly and willing to help in any way they can. The only thing I could wish differently is that there was a greater emphasis on design.

While the campus "cougareat" (or dining area) does provide a fair amount of variety, I am not particularly fond of it. Many students like to take a lunch brake at the cougareat which leads to crowded lines and tables for a few overpriced meal options. I prefer to go to the creamery and pick out some fresh fruit.

Guys & Girls:
Attractive but Stuck up – The girls here are not interested in getting laid. No, really. After they do anything, they'll pretend it never happened and you're back to square one.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
