Tons of Fun – The athletic centers are HUGE and mostly open access. The library has been named one of the best and most beautiful in the country. Lots of crazy fun campus activities. They even brought a ferris wheel to the campus one time.

Don't Do Anything Stupid – This place is great if you don't want potheads, drunks, and less than savory people. If you're caught breaking the honor code, you're disciplined or expelled. Be prepared to be on your best behavior here.

Health & Safety:
Totally Safe – Campus police here are hypervigilant. You never feel threatened here. People even leave their doors unlocked all night long and very rarely have things stolen.

Everything here is geared toward students. The starving student card gives you discounts to just about everything that Provo has to offer. Salt Lake, just 45 minutes north, has an international airport, tons of concerts and museums, and LOTS of great food.

Freakishly Nice – Everyone who goes to school here is freakishly nice and courteous and social.

Excellent shape, well-cared for, and a general atmosphere of respect towards people and the surrounding environment.

The area actually has quite a few nice restaurants but most of the students aren't willing to pay. There are a lot of Mexican type restaurants that are really good and close to campus. There are also quite a few chain sit-down restaurants but most are too far away to get to without driving or taking the bus.

There are many convenient computer and printing labs on campus. However, printing is not free. Also, the computer labs vary in quality. The Mac labs are nice, but are often reserved for specific classes or majors. The PC labs, which most people use, aren't terrible but are a few years old.

Sports Fans Are SO Bipolar. Our fans are horrible. They love them team when it's doing well and hate it when it's not. If you're gonna be a fan, be a fan all the time and not just when they're doing well.

Apartments Are Ridiculous! Off-campus housing is RIDICULOUSLY expensive. It takes one entire paycheck to pay for housing. I wish they would be a little more lenient for all of us poor college students.

Restaurants Around Campus – There's a TON of options, but most of them are closed before 10pm. Other than that, I like it. It's got a little bit of everything.

Springs and summers are great - very warm (but not humid), lots of outdoor activities. Overall very pleasant. Autumn is very pretty - lots of leaves changing color and the mountains are gorgeous. Winters are very cold - usually a fair amount of snow. Winters are pretty grey, and the transition into spring seems to take forever.

Overall very good. There are 187 bachelor's programs, 64 masters degrees, and 26 doctorate degrees as of fall 2010. For 2010-2011, ranked #1 in accounting program (according to recruiters, Wall Street Journal), #4 graduates with least debt (U.S. News & World Report), #5 public relations program (PR Week Magazine), #16 MBA program (Forbes).

Beautiful Campus – BYU's campus is amazing and includes about 300 buildings. BYU has several museums (art, paleontology, peoples & cultures, life science). There are numerous high-quality facilities for performing arts and sports (indoor practice fields & tennis courts, student athlete building, field house with track, five concert halls, 4 art galleries). There's a planetarium, astronomy telescope, a cancer research center. I heard that other than Harvard, BYU's library has more books than any other university library in the USA. The student center includes ballrooms, a bookstore, a bowling ally, a barber shop, and much more. The campus itself is beautiful - well-manicured lawns, trees, and gardens. There's a duck pond and a few streams and fountains. The mountains are beautiful too. The only complaint is that there's always construction going on at one place or another.

Mormons+Curfew=Not Much – We don't drink, so the bars and clubs thing is pretty much ruled out. There are plenty of dance parties to go around as well as performing groups on the weekends, however the fun generally ends at midnight due to a university established curfew.

The computers are beginning to become a bit outdated in the PC department. They do fine for basic tasks like word processing but when you use more intense programs such as Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop your chances of getting a blue screen go up significantly. The Mac labs are fantastic though not as readily available as PC labs. The school does provide WIFI throughout the school that has decent speed which makes internet access convenient if you have a laptop.

Worth Your Money – Everything about this school screams value. The price that you pay for the experience that you gain here is excellent. Student life is fun, if you can get by with no drugs, alcohol, sex. Teachers are excellent, and the student by is the nicest that I've seen.

Having it snow all winter does not make it fun to go to class during end of fall semester, and winter semester.

Off Campus Restaurants – There really are not a lot of choices that you can eat at near college.

There Are No Drugs – Like the title suggests, you won't find an ounce of drugs anywhere near campus. It is a church school, and all the students who attend are clean and live healthy lives. There isn't even any drinking.

Health & Safety:
Welcome to Provo – Because BYU is an LDS school, there is no drinking or smoking anywhere. The worst crime is that a bike gets stolen. The place is always clean, and you always feel safe there.

Not a lot of students drive to campus. Everyone is restricted by having to live no farther than 1 mile away from campus in all directions. Most people bike or walk to school. Permits can be purchased or applied for but there is little to no advantage. Walkers get there in about the same time as a car. Biking is the fastest, and cheapest option.

Guys & Girls:
Utah Girls – There are three types of people at the school. The Urban Retros who where everything Urban Outfitters and think they look cool. The sport fanatics who never switch out of their sweats. And then there are the "I was born in the wrong time" dressers who were anything from renaissance to early 1960's apparel. A whole category on there own are the Utah girls. Big blonde hair, tight clothes, wear anything from Downeast, and where too much cheek powder and eye make-up.

Not Enough Space – While all of the on-campus housing has recently been reconstructed or upgraded, I gave it a B for lack of space. As a freshman it is nearly impossible to get a spot in teh on-campus housing, leaving you to find something as close as you can off-campus.

J-Dogs Is What It's About. The off-campus dining around BYU is great, and has anything you could want on a college budget. J-dogs is especially good... Great dogs and great prices, perfect for a cheap date.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
