Large Variety of Classes – There are so many directions you can take your education that when I first looked over my options for courses, I beamed at the fact that they had everything I wanted and more. The professors are very knowledgeable and challenge you to work hard. This has helped me develop valuable study skills.

Walking Is Easiest – If you can, live close to campus because the best option is walking or riding your bike. Parking is free but it is often hard to find a spot and parking lots aren't extremely close to campus, so it is often just faster to walk

Not Too Expensive – Apartments in Provo are very cheap, but sometimes it can be hard to find housing, especially for Fall semester. Also, I have had a bad experience with my current landlords

Health & Safety:
Almost Always Safe – It is usually just my imagination that makes me feel unsafe when I walk home, and also that sometimes my streetlights are out

BYU is known for its strict Honor Code, so the drinking and smoking scene is not prevalent. I'm sure if you were looking for it you could find it, though. I do not condone that activity.

If you're married... BYU's nightlife would get a better grade.

Almost every building on campus have open-access computer labs, making internet access readily available. However, most students do have a laptop of their own. WiFi is pretty available on most parts of campus.
College Senior 2011-12-14T00:05:56Z
Very Strict – Don't even try to break the honor code, stick to what you agree to and be aware.
College Senior 2011-12-14T00:04:24Z
Sports Are Crazy – Everybody on campus is super excited for sports, basketball and football are nationally ranked and it's always a great time going to the games and showing school spirit.
College Senior 2011-12-14T00:00:26Z
The Psychology Major – There is so much help from staff offered, many of opportunities to work in the lab as an undergraduate. I love BYU and what it offers!

BYU has one of the best libraries in the nation. There are 5 levels, thousands of books, and a wide selection of CD's DVD's and fiction for your free time. There are workers everywhere able and willing to help you find what you need. During Finals week they extend the hours for those students who want the extra studying time. There's an area where you can talk while studying and another area where you can eat while studying. A very good building!

Buses Are the Best Option – buses and shuttles run to the campus all the time and are more convenient than trying to find parking. the costs aren't bad either.
Recent Alumnus 2011-12-13T16:49:39Z
There are no roads that run through the campus so you have to park a fair distance to campus and then walk in. The parking lots that are provided are small and parking spots are rarities.

Quick, Convienent – The lines tend to go fast, there are lots of options and its fairly inexpensive but healthy.

This is the obvious one with BYU but it is so true, and really makes a huge difference. I love having prayer in classes, religion classes being required, and other minor things like the honor code. I get used to how things are on campus and so when I leave, I am shocked sometimes at the things that I find when I venture outside. I love having the connection with my maker as I study the things that he has made for us...

I LOVE IT! :) I love the snow and cold but that is because I grew up in Utah so I LOVE having snow and a ski resort only 15 minutes away... doesn't get any better!

More Opportunities! I LOVE BYU! They are great. They really support their athletics and try and help their student athletes succeed. However, I am disappointed with the amount of money and support they give to "less popular" sports. They give tons and tons of scholarships to football and basketball - all full ride, and then they only give cross country or tennis 5 scholarships to share over 10 people, so they MAY get books or something but no actual scholarship... fairly disappointing. Especially when your football team rarely wins and your cross country team is 5th in the Nation... Interesting...

Drinking and drugs are strictly prhibited on campus which I love. There are dance parties almost every weekend. The music is always clean and there is no dirty dancing. Transportation is hard to find but you really don't need it.

Health & Safety:
BYU is always concerned about the safety of all its students. There are strict visiting hours that are meant to keep everyone safe. Drinking and drugs are strictly prohibited, which I love about BYU. It makes the experience here even more enjoyable.

BYU is right between Orem and downtown Provo and so there is always something to do whether is be the university malls, or the movie theatres. It just might be a bit of a walk if you don't have connections to a car. I feel very safe at BYU, which is always concerned about the saftey of its students.

Just Be Good! Our police officers make life so much better. They take care of traffic control during large events. I have NEVER seen anyone get in any real trouble, but there isn't many issues on campus anyway. We're all pretty much doing what we should.

Good Clean Fun – BYU is the home of the Mormons and it shows in our party habits. We like to have fun by snowball fights and movie nights. We enjoy spending time together and being crazy. We do nothing along the lines of drinking, but we always have fun.
College Junior 2011-12-05T21:12:45Z
Parking Is NOT Fun! From what I've learned, off-campus housing is good. Make sure you get SOMETHING near school. Walking isn't the best, and parking is even worse. The parking lots for students during the school hours all are a good hike away from main campus.
College Junior 2011-12-05T20:33:47Z
ITs northern Utah so it gets cold. Just bring warm clothes and you'll be fine
College Junior 2011-12-05T20:28:55Z
Lots to Do – BYU has lots to do. Whether its the students always down to do fun wholesome things, or the free fun things to do around town, or free food everywhere, or the actual activites that BYU puts on. Theres always something to do if your willing to go out and do it.
