Coming into BYU, you know should know what you are getting into. By signing your name to the Honor Code, you are saying that you will live by strict rules, and BYU will not let you forget it. The Honor Code Office is the biggest threat on campus, and no one wants to be called by them. Students will most definitely be kicked out of school for drug and alcohol offenses, as well as possibly suspended for things such as curfew violations and being found in the bedroom of someone of the opposite sex.
Cheating is never tolerated, and plagiarism is another offense that will not only get you in the Honor Code Office, but the dean’s office as well. Students undoubtedly have fun, but they also play by the rules. Again, due to the Mormon culture, things such as cheating and lying are looked down on by peers and not tolerated by authority. If you are looking for a school where you can get away with things, be advised, this one is not for you.

Business
Ridiculously Strict
Having fun is prohibited at Bringham Young. There is no academic freedom, no parties, nothing to do on campus. Bringham Young is only good if you enjoy twiddling your thumbs sitting in your room wondering what to do at 10 pm.

Law and Legal Studies
Self-Policing
BYU has a very strict code of conduct. However there is no campus gestappo to enforce it. Out of religious conviction most students simply follow it. Some don't, but this is not very visible.

Journalism
Strict
Very strict Honor Code in line with LDS Word of Wisdom teachings. No drinking, modesty, no profanity, no cheating, no premarital/extramarital sex.

BYU requires its students to live by an Honor Code based on the beliefs of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. All students and faculty, whether or not they are part of the church, must abide by the following code:
• Be honest • Live a chaste and virtuous life • Obey the law and all campus policies • Use clean language • Respect others • Abstain from alcoholic beverages, tobacco, tea, coffee, and substance abuse • Observe dress and grooming standards • Participate regularly in church services • Encourage others in their commitment to comply by the BYU Honor Code

College Prowler guides are in the hands of students throughout the entire process. Because you can't make student-written guides without the students, we have students at each campus who write, edit, and survey their peers for every guide that we publish.
