I am not too aware of the Career Services, however I do hope they will serve as an asset in post-graduation. Currently being enrolled in Study Skills has helped with ways to look for jobs post-graduation as well as helping steer us, the students, in the right direction.

Taking online classes requires a lot of self motivation. However, attending the classes at Bryan University, one gets to interact with the instructor as well as the other students in the class. My classroom size is small and interacting with the instructors has been extremely helpful. It really is like attending school from home and has helped motivate me to strive.

I am giving it a C because I feel 50/50 about it. On one hand, it's great because of the convenience of not having to leave your home and being able to do your homework and take your tests whenever is best for you is great. On the other hand, I feel like it might be too much freedom (for me personally) , I think I would be progressing faster if I had an actual classroom at an actual campus with actual people that I had to go to for class each week.
But, overall, I'm content with how it is.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The financial aid was great at first, but it hasn't been so great this last year. I did not receive a financial aid check last tern and I am not going to receive one this term and last year they messed up on my checks. What I don't like is they don't like is they never notify(ed) me to let me know that the money I am expecting to receive isn't coming.. It's frustrating.

The Help Desk is a wonderful resource. When you contact them for assistance they are great at getting in contact with you via phone or email to ensure your issue is resolved.

The online experience is great if you are a self-motivator. You have to be on top of your time management and interaction skills.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The education is well worth it. The cost is a bit pricey but court reporting is a specialized field and once you graduate there is no shortage of work to pay off the loans.

I am a court reporting major and classes are as expected. It is a lot of work but everything is relevant to the court reporting field and with the proper time management steps taken, it is doable.

The professors are very involved with students and constantly give advice/tips on how we can succeed. They are easily accessible.

The staff at Bryan U. are phenomenal. They are very nice, helpful, and make everything easy to understand! I look forward to meeting my teachers!

Bryan U. online has the best up to date software that allows me to interact through video chat with my teachers and classmates. They also have a special type of software that tracks my progress in speed building, and modifies exercises that help me to correct my problem areas.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The cost for the program is a little pricey, but it will be well worth it because Bryan U. has one of the best court reporting programs. I know that once I'm graduated and employed by my state, I will be able to afford to pay off my loans and have the life I've always dreamed of.

As an online student, I can't accurately describe diversity, as I've never seen or met most of my fellow students. You do develop a cameraderie with people though via the chat box, online forums, and email. However, after two years I can say that most students (greater than 90%) are female, and most are adults looking to make a career change. As an online student, you are quite literally blind to race/ethnicity with regard to fellow students. Everyone is always happy to help one another out, congratulate each other on successes, offer tips and tricks for success, and there is an overall feeling of being part of a very supportive community of students.

I really love online courses. You attend class via a live feed, so you still are able to see and hear your teacher in real time, and communicate with the teacher and other students audibly or in a chatbox feature. There is an interactive whiteboard, just as if you were in classroom as well. I can imagine that for some studies, online classes would be difficult. However, in court reporting, where the majority of the class work is just writing dictated exercises, I don't really see any drawbacks to the online courses. You do have to be somewhat organized though, as any handouts are emailed to you and it is your responsibility to print them out for yourself and/or save them digitally. All of the professors I've had have been happy to help however they can, and even call students regularly to check in.
As a single mother with a full-time day job, I absolutely LOVE online courses. Not having to leave my house at night to drive to a campus is fabulous, especially since this program neccessitates a steno machine and laptop and various cords/accesscories.

The teachers are great, and always available for my questions on anything.

Create a Time-Management Plan – It is important to use your time effectively, efficiently and wisely. Although instructors are there to answer any questions and help guide you along your academic journey, it is so important for students to use their time outside of class wisely. Weekly one-on-one sessions are very helpful. Student Outreach assists students with any concerns and help students stay focused and follow progress. It is also very valuable to be able to develop a one-on-one relationship with my instructors as well. This was not the case at the previous school that I was taking online courses at.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Be Informed – I know that the tuition that I am paying a higher this year than in past years. I am fine with that, knowing that in the long run, the degree that I earn and my career opportunities will well exceed any monies that I have invested. I must say, that it is very important to be well informed of all financial aid resources, and the fees associated with school. It would have been a much easier process, had I known the exact deadlines and forms needed to make the process run smoother. The more I learn about financial aid options that are available to me, the more informed decisions I can make in the future of my academic career.

Computer Network – The computer network is alright at Bryan College - Los Angeles. It works, however, it takes forever to get on the internet for school purposes as well as it disconnects a lot. I believe this is due to the number of students being logged-in, however, the school should be proactive about this knowing there will be most likely everybody needing and using internet on school's premisses as we do need laptop and internet access for our Steno Classes.
College Senior 2012-05-20T15:29:31Z
Rate and Review of Bryan College - Los Angeles's Campus – Bryan College of Court Reporting gives free access to school's library that has enough computer stations to accommodate many students at the same time. I wish that staff would be more knowledgeable about the computers as whenever I need to fix something basic in my word document i.e. font, spacing etc. nobody knows what's wrong with the computers as they do not register the required changes you select. It is very frustrating at times. The same goes for the student book store. Many books are outdated for years and we have to make corrections while in class. I understand they can't re-print books every time there's a change, however, some of the books have been 20-25 years old and I think the school just doesn't want to pay for the re-print as they figured students can make a notation in class. Other than that the school is great, I love my major and can't wait to graduate and start my career as Court Reporter.

Interactive Online Experience – Bryan College is by far one of the best Court Reporting schools out there and thanks to their interactive online experience, anyone all over the wold and United States can train to become the best Court Reporter they can be. The professors are there for you and your every need, and the school offers so much help and support for your life that you know they understand that when taking online classes, you have more than just school to figure out in your life and that's great. If you are thinking about a college for court reporting, choose Bryan University... They are the best out there!

Online Vs. Brick and Mortar – Their online class is set in stone. You take certain classes certain terms with little flexibility in options. This makes it easy to plan but difficult to tailor to you own needs

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I contacted the Financial aid office several times to prevent a lack of financial aid. They responded by telling me they would let me know when and how to apply for financial aid. They did not. I contacted them recently and they said I needed to do my FAFSA and I did. I was denied because I got married and his income pushed me over the limit. Their only option was a payment plan. No offer of any type of scholarship options.

Something Unique About Bryan College – I compared several schools for online classes and out of six schools I chose Bryan College. I chose this school for several reasons but the one that stood out the most was the sessions were held in a program named Elluminate. You are able to be in a room for your class at a certain time, see and listen to your instructors lecture, interact in class and with classmates. You have a chat box and a microphone and you can use either of them to interact in class.
