Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Like any highly-rated liberal arts college, Bryn Mawr provides a stellar education to a vibrant student body on a campus so beautiful that sometimes it looks surreal. During the school year, especially in the dead of winter, it is easy to overlook these tremendous offerings and instead focus on the massive amount of work, as it contrasts to what can seem like a dearth of social opportunities. These are the times where some freshmen consider transferring.

Traditions help lighten the mood on campus, and despite what seems to be stress oozing out of every pore, most students manage to do a lot more than just handle their school work—though everyone agrees that academics is a priority. In the end, students are most proud of their academic work, but also fond of the school and experiences that they had here. Mawrters come to Bryn Mawr to benefit from the faculty and coursework the school is known for. Some women find the lack of boys on campus difficult to adjust to, or they find the general smallness of the campus undesirable, but in the end, most stay for the same reason they came: academics. When it’s over, few look back on the decision with regret.

Traditions and What Sets Us Apart

There really is nothing like Bryn Mawr. From the Traditions which border on bizarre to the atmosphere of the campus. Traditions are so much fun and the whole campus, including professors and staff members, get involved. Students are driven, they want to make a difference, and it really shows. Intellectualism is rampant here but were snobbish and were not afraid to kick back and enjoy ourselves either.

Blue Bus, Swat Van and Philidelphia

The Blue bus runs on a very regular schedule that corresponds with class times. The Swat van is a little more difficult to catch and doesn't run as often. The train station is just a five minute walk from campus and the college will pay for your ticket if you can tell them what event your going to a week in advance. Tickets into Philadelphia really aren't all the expensive though, maybe 7$ one way.

Drug Safety at Bryn Mawr College

Less Drugs, More Books

I rarely see anyone doing any drugs. If anything, people drink or smoke on campus. The party scene is not big here but there will be occasional get-togethers and events such as, Halloween, Pem East vs. West and St. Patrick's Day where a lot of people drink.
