Some Mawrters marvel over the quality and quantity of foods offered in the campus's three dining halls, while others argue that none of the choices offered by Dining Services are appetizing. Judging by the awards our cuisine has won, the food is not too shabby. The main meat courses are rarely the tastiest, but Mawrters tend to get very creative concocting delicacies of their own with the ingredients in the salad bar, which offers cold pasta, fruit, beans, and a wide range of dressings, and few leave the dining room hungry. Quesadillas, panini sandwiches, and fajitas are all popular dinner dishes that students can design themselves and are offered on a weekly basis. The theme dinners and holiday dinners usually get compliments. Students attribute the good food to the small quantities prepared in each kitchen and the close interaction between students and the dining staff. The food at Uncommon Grounds is a convenient place to pick up a turkey sandwich if you miss lunch or dinner.
Dining Services is giving students a few more options regarding how many meals you can pay for. Instead of requiring everyone on the meal plan to pay for unlimited all-you-can-eat meals, there will be partial meal plans available for non-freshmen. Despite these adaptations to students eating habits, most students are likely to continue to make the dining hall a popular place for dining and socializing.
