The Best of Small Town and Big City – The town of Bryn Mawr is adorable and quite small but between it and the surrounding suburbs you can find anything you need. The immediate environment is beautiful -- tree lined streets with beautiful houses and several colleges right next door. However, I'm a city kid through and through, so one of my favorite things about Bryn Mawr's location is its proximity to Philadelphia. It's a 20 minute train ride there which is super convenient, and Philly literally has everything. Visit South Street if you get the chance! It's where all the cool shops are. The only drawback is that it costs about $10 round trip, so if you're poor it can limit how often you get downtown. But then again if you want to stick close to home, between Bryn Mawr, Haverford, and Swarthmore there are always things happening that you can get to for free. It also feels very safe. I walk all over Bryn Mawr at whatever time of night alone and don't feel unsafe, which is nice. Also go to Milkboy! It's the local coffee shop. It's a great place to study only a five minute walk from campus.
