As of this year, Bryn Mawr offers...
As of this year, Bryn Mawr offers a very limited number of apartments near the campus, serviced by the campus shuttle. Aside from this opportunity, there are very few apartments in the area that are affordable to the average college student. There are cheaper apartments in the surrounding towns, but you have to be willing to take the train every day to class.

While the athletic facilities...
While the athletic facilities leave something to be desired, the student center and libraries are great. People often travel long distances to use our classics and architecture library. If the library doesn't have something you are looking for, they'll make sure they get it. While the bookstore, student cafes, and campus center are small, they have most of what you need. They are very friendly places where people like to congregate. There are not a lot of student performance spaces, but the college is starting to address that by building new extensions and making space available.

I wouldn't know much about parking. I, like the majority of the student body, do not have a car. I would imagine that parking is not great since the parking spaces always seem to be full. Freshmen can't *technically* have cars, but it isn't actually unheard of. You don't really need a car at Bryn Mawr. The R5 is only a short walk away and there is the blue bus system to take you to Haverford and Swarthmore.

I wish I had a car because SEPTA is so annoying. Parking is a little tricky. Don't put BMC stickers on your car, or Public Safety will know you're a student (if you choose to park at Admissions or in front of Wyndam). Having a car isn't necessary at all, and most people don't have cars, but those who do have more options.

Well, besides being an all-women's college, we are remarkably diverse economically, ethnically, and definitely sexually. However, you won't find a lot of people who are conservative politically, and we tend to share similar ideals in terms of women's and gay rights.

Most students at Bryn Mawr bring their own computers to campus, although it's not at all a requirement. We have a 24-hour computer lab that students have access to. The campus is both Mac- and PC-friendly, and the Help Desk can help with computer problems on any computer, including ones that students bring to campus. The dorms all have Ethernet connections, and the dorm common rooms, libraries, campus center, and some outdoor spaces have wireless.

Bryn Mawr is a very diverse campus with people of many different races, religions, sexual orientations, and economic backgrounds. There is much less diversity of political thought though.

It's possible and fairly convenient to live off-campus, but most people choose not to do so because of our gorgeous dorms and the sense of community on campus.

Most people have their own computers. There are connections in every room and wireless in common areas and libraries. The computers can sometimes be crowded at midterms and finals, but you can usually find one free.

The girls at Bryn Mawr are, in general, wonderful. There is a real community feel, and I have found that I didn’t know what friendship was until I came here. |

There are a lot of intelligent, articulate, fascinating people here. I fell in love with the campus almost immediately as a prospective student, largely because of the students that I met when visiting. I like practically everyone I’ve met. |

Bryn Mawr is a good school in just about every way. It’s small and sometimes full of itself, but the environment is friendly and welcoming. There’s always someone around to be your friend and help you out if you need it, whether it’s a professor, a supervisor, or a fellow student. I don’t really wish I had gone somewhere else, but I think I could have made more of my time there than I did. |

Adjusting to Bryn Mawr was rough for me. You have to actively seek a social life if you want one, and it is easy to isolate yourself here. However, the classes are amazing, the professors top quality, and the mix of students always keeps things interesting. |

I would say that the professors and classes I have been privileged to have at Bryn Mawr are extremely intense, but they have provided me with an invaluable, multi-faceted base of knowledge. |

Classes are intimate, so the quality of the class depends a lot on the quality of the group of students in it. |

The dorms are beautiful! If you have ever wanted to live in a palace, go to Bryn Mawr! There are no cinderblock, cookie-cutter rooms at BMC. Every room is unique and has its own history. |

I never paid much attention to athletics. The biggest sport tends to be rugby. The players are some of the most determined women I have ever seen. |

Bryn Mawr is very big on letting students govern themselves, so they don’t do much about drugs and drinking. However, in my experience, people tend to be responsible enough about these activities that they won’t bother you. If they do, students normally stop on request. |

I wanted to transfer at first. The social scene was not right for me. But there is something about this school that I know I couldn’t get anywhere else, and that is the education I am getting. Having taken courses at several other distinguished universities, including Penn, I know my money is best spent here, and I am being challenged to the utmost of my abilities. It will, in the long run, be the best preparation for grad school, my career, and life in general. |

The food is excellent. It’s on a six week rotation. You do not eat the same foods that often. It is highly, highly vegan and vegetarian friendly. There isn’t really anywhere else to eat but the dining halls. |

BMC is a hard place to be sometimes. You will most likely be more than happy to be away from it when you graduate, but eventually, you’ll appreciate it again. I really liked it until my senior year, but now that I’ve graduated, I see how I sacrificed a lot of fun and quality of living while I was there. |

Bryn Mawr College offered me everything I wanted in one package: small-town life, big-city fun, efficient transportation, challenging professors and classes, travel opportunities, lots of learning and growing, skills for the future, friendships that will last a lifetime, and what might be the most stunning college setting with the most memorable traditions I’ve ever experienced. |

I have found that every one of my professors is interested in not only my understanding the material, but my reactions to the way in which the class is structured and any suggestions I might have to better the class. It is really a joint-learning atmosphere. |
