College Prowler Take
It’s unanimous that Bucknell has amazing athletic facilities. A fitness center, pool, and basketball stadium were just finished within the last couple of years. The fitness center received all new equipment for weight lifting and cardio exercise. The computers in the library and academic buildings are all very nice and new. However, some of the computers and printers located in the dorm computer labs need some help. The LC (student center) is fairly new and very nice and contains mailboxes, the bookstore, the Bison (a place to get food), the cafeteria, offices, an ATM, and Samek Art Gallery. Most of Bucknell’s facilities have recently undergone face-lifts. In the past few years, Swartz Hall, a dorm, was renovated, as was Hunt Hall, where the sororities cohabitate and the Breakiron Engineering building was recently added. There are a few buildings still in need of some help, but it seems that Bucknell is always undertaking some kind of renovation to improve the campus. Over the next few years, Bucknell plans on adding more academic buildings and dormitories. Nearly every student goes through the LC at least once a day. It is in the center of campus, and is the main place where students eat—the Caf and the Bison are here. Since the LC somewhat connects the lower campus (“downhill”) from the upper campus (“uphill”), students often pass through here to get out of the cold for part of their walk across campus. The LC is always a lively place where students meet for meals, shop for necessities at the bookstore, and receive any care packages from home. (Note: Care packages are vital for student happiness!)

The facilities are second to none....
The facilities are second to none. Everything is immaculate, and we have so many amenities that most students don't even use. Don't forget, though, our steep tuition bill goes to fund this stuff.

The facilities at Bucknell are all...
The facilities at Bucknell are all remarkably well-maintained and modern. The KLARC—the Bucknell athletic center—is not only massive, but everyone can find some way to exercise, be it on the indoor track, workout machines and free-weight rooms, or the beautiful pool. The cafeteria serves a great variety of food and manages to make it tasty, too.

We have an awesome gym. There are weight rooms, treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, an Olympic-sized pool, and a sauna. As far as the Gerhard Fieldhouse goes, there are tennis courts, a track, a spot for pole vaulting, a rock wall, racquetball courts, and probably more I haven't seen yet. And it's open to everyone. As far as student unions, there's the LC, where most students go to eat and hang out. On the bottom floor is the Bison, which has really good food, and on upper floors are the Caf and Terrace Room.

The athletic facilities are...
The athletic facilities are incredible. They are really the best I have ever seen. The pool and the basketball stadium are just too incredible to put into words. I have played water polo for four years and I have seen more than 30 different pools around America and around Europe, and I can easily say that Bucknell's is one of the best I have ever swam in. The library is also very good. It has six levels all filled with books. If you need a book, the library has it. Even if you are just looking for a specific article, the library has an electronic database that helps you find what you need. If they don't have it, they can order it from other colleges. So, you always have the resource you are looking for.
The cafeteria is located at the Elaine Langone Center (LC), and they have very good food. Even though they variety wise they are not what I am used to; the service and the food are very good compared to other colleges.

The athletic facilities have great...
The athletic facilities have great equipment and exercise classes. There is a bit of overcrowding, though, so I guess it would be nice if it was larger, but the equipment is great. The library is also nice, with a sufficient amount of computers and resources such as staff to help you find and locate books and articles. The dining facilities are also good. Food is always delicious, no matter where you are eating, and places are always super clean with friendly staff.

FactsWhat To Do on Campus
During the day, you can eat, shop (there are always outside vendors on campus in the LC selling clothes, jewelry, purses, etc.), use your creative energy at the craft center, relax in the sauna, work out, go for a swim, play tennis, or hit up the driving range. At night, you can check out the many on- and off-campus parties, hang out at 7th Street Café, listen to one of the many speakers that Bucknell brings to campus, attend one of the activity nights at the Caf, check out a band playing at Uptown (the on-campus club), see a movie in Vaughan Literature Auditorium or the LC Forum, or check out a visiting comedian in the Bison.
Favorite Things To Do
The CAP (Campus Activities and Programs) center works really hard to get lots of different bands and singers to campus. Bucknell has seen some pretty impressive performers from Dave Matthews to Ludacris to O.A.R. Each semester, the Bucknell Concert Committee puts on a concert with a mainstream performer. However, nearly every weekend there are lesser-known bands and singers performing at Uptown and in 7th Street Café, and these concerts are free, which is always a plus. Also, many of the fraternities bring bands in to play. If there’s not someone you want to see performing, students enjoy the five-minute walk to the Campus Theatre (on Market Street) to catch a movie. Often times, there are independent and foreign films, as well as mainstream Hollywood films. The CAP center also shows movies on campus once or twice a week. Bucknell students also enjoy working out at the gym, which was redone in 2003 and is in pristine condition. Every day there are special classes offered such as Pilates or kickboxing. Of course, students can also use the equipment, swim in the Olympic-sized pool, or play a game of tennis on the courts. T The 7th Street Café is a fun place to hang out and chat with your friends. The atmosphere is really cozy, and there are a lot of yummy coffee and non-coffee drinks to chose from, as well as food! When the weather is nice, students can be found littered all around Bucknell’s beautiful campus. There are many places to sit and do work, read, or just hang out.
Bowling on Campus
- None, but the local bowling alley is a popular place for students to go.
Movie Theater on Campus
- None, but the Campus Theatre is right down the street. Also, every Wednesday and Saturday night, movies that are about to come out on DVD are shown in the LC Forum for cheap.
