Advice on Finding a Job/Internship The Bucknell Career Development Center is awesome! The staff is always willing to advise students about internships and careers. The CDC also does a great job keeping in touch with alumni. There are many career fairs throughout the year, which is a great opportunity to get out and meet Bucknell alumni in your field of work. You should make an appointment early on with a staff member to discuss their career plans and what internship possibilities would be most beneficial to you and your interests. Bucknell also runs an externship program that allows you to job shadow someone in the field that you’re interested in for one week over winter break. Take advantage of the many career fairs offered. You can learn a lot about a certain career just by talking with alumni. Also, establish relationships with alumni in the line of work you are interested in. They can be very helpful to you in terms of guidance, as well as maybe getting you a job someday.
