College Prowler Take
Freshmen are not allowed cars on campus, but it is not really necessary to have a car your first year because everything you need is on campus. After freshman year, when students bring their cars, finding a parking place does not seem to be a huge issue. Most students really only complain about the lack of parking near the academic buildings. However, the campus is so small that students can easily walk everywhere they need to go, so cars are more useful for getting off campus to the surrounding area, rather than around campus. Compared to many other universities, Bucknell has a relatively cheap parking permit price. There are a few parking lots and a lot of areas to park along the street. Street parking can be a pain, though, because each street is cleaned on a different day each week, and if your car is not moved, you’ll be ticketed. It can also be annoying to park on the street during the winter, especially if you have a small car. When the plow comes down the street, your car can get completely snowed in, which results in you spending half the morning shoveling it out of the snow! Sometimes the parking signs can be confusing, which can result in you accidently parking in staff or visiting parking, where you will receive a ticket. On the lower end of campus are two large parking lots that are rarely full, but many students prefer parking on the street because of the close proximity to the dorms. As long as you carefully read the parking signs, parking is relatively stress-free at Bucknell.

Once you're on campus, there's no point in driving from class to class simply because parking can be pretty competitive. Plus, it's not that large of a campus anyway.

Even though it's in the middle of nowhere, there aren't a lot of parking spaces. But, the campus is small enough so that most people walk to class anyway, except for sophomores in the Mods and some students living off campus.

The parking is great on campus. If there is one thing that Bucknell has, it's parking. Unfortunately, freshmen aren't allowed to bring a car to campus, and if you get caught operating any motor vehicle, your car privileges are suspended for your first semester sophomore year. But, in all honesty, freshmen really don't need a car.

Parking is a pain in the butt—just plain don't drive a car to class. There are many random parking lots and one big student parking lot, but parking near your dorm is pretty much impossible at peak times. There is lots of faculty and staff parking near dorms that have no faculty or staff, so that can be frustrating. Also, you really have to read signs—some places can only be used at certain times or on certain days. The parking situation is pretty much awful.

The parking is pretty easy for the most part. But, parking is a nightmare when there is an activity on campus that brings a lot of the community to the school.
