College Prowler Take
The weather in Pennsylvania is truly unpredictable. It can go from blue skies and sun to dark clouds and rain in a matter of minutes. The summer and fall see a lot of rain, and the first snow usually occurs sometime in November. January and February are the cold months. When you come back from winter break in January, the wind chill can be shocking. It does not last too long, though, and students generally try and escape to warm places for spring break. In March and April, the weather is very temperamental. One day it will be warm and sunny, then the next day it will be snowing as disgruntled students trudge to class. Basically, be prepared for all seasons. A warm jacket is a necessity, especially since Bucknell students walk pretty much everywhere, even in the dead of winter. The great thing about Bucknell’s weather pattern is that the University truly does see all four seasons, and the campus remains gorgeous all year round! In the fall, the leaves change, and the campus is covered in an orange-red hue. In the winter, the snow spreads a crisp, angelic blanket over the quads and sloping hills. In the spring, everything is green, the cherry blossoms bloom, and students emerge from inside to soak up the sun.

The weather at Bucknell is like any other school in Pennsylvania. The end of the summer is hot/warm until about the end of October, and then it get's very cold and a bit windy through the beginning of spring in March. However, we get some funky weather, and we'll have some really warm days in the middle of winter for days at a time. Always have jeans and a warm coat, but prepare for warm weather!

It gets pretty cold in the winter here—like 10 below zero at the coldest. Unless you're a hearty woodsman/woman from New England or Canada, I would suggest you bring a nice (heavy) coat

The weather will be relatively warm during the first semester, so normal summer and fall clothes should do just fine. During second semester, on the other hand, can get very cold. So, do not forget to bring your winter coat. That is a must.

Weather is standard for central PA and the Northeast, in general. It is chilly in the winter—you need a good jacket, mittens, and scarf!—and in the spring/fall it rains a lot, so an umbrella is key! For about a month it is warm and sunny, so shorts and tees are appropriate. You basically will need all types of clothing to accommodate the fluctuations in weather at Bucknell.

The weather varies with the seasons. It rains—often—so an umbrella and rain boots are a must. It gets really hot in the early fall/late spring and really cold in the winter, so a good variety of clothing is necessary.
