You don't see people out drinking or doing any type of drugs because campus police are so strict. Lots of people drink, lots dont. You can go out and party and not drink without being pressured. Some people do drugs but again no pressure to join them.

Butler like most private schools is outrageously expensive. I got financial aid but still had to apply for loans
College Student 2013-11-11T20:15:32Z
Butler basketball is obviously huge! Lots of people are involved in either club or intramural sport teams. You can't get better athletic facilities than Hinkle.
College Student 2013-11-11T20:13:41Z
The community seems to love butler and are always asking about the sport teams. Being right outside Indianapolis is a fun atmosphere and gives lot of options for shopping, museums, parks etc.

Lots of rich white kids but that's what you get when your not at a state school
College Student 2013-11-11T20:10:15Z
Broad Ripple bars are great! It just a pain that you can't walk there. The school provides shuttles but they stop pretty early so you have to find other transportation back to campus.
College Student 2013-11-11T20:08:28Z
There is Broad Ripple nearby that has a wide variety. There is a shuttle that runs on weekends which is the only way to get there if you don't have a car.

1 landlord has a monopoly over most houses around campus, and treats the students with little respect. Houses are broken into often because we live by the ghetto, try to stay as close to campus as possible and preferably closer to Hinkle. The off campus party scene is the knoll, but it's not as safe.

I like my major, clusters are good and bad at times, it's nice to have all your tests done at once, but then again it is very stressful. Pharmacy dominates Butler so you always feel part of a group.
College Sophomore 2013-11-11T15:32:15Z
I'm in pharmacy and we constantly have companies interviewing students for internships. Seems pretty easy to get one if you ask me, but I had one coming in to college already.

Guys & Girls:
Typical frat guys, nothing special. Most guys are short, so if you're a girl over 5'8'' it's hard to find a guy taller than you.
College Sophomore 2013-11-11T15:28:37Z
There is no way to get groceries unless you have a car or a friend with a car.
College Sophomore 2013-11-11T15:27:58Z
Basketball is the only super popular sport here on campus, although the football team thinks they are the best. If you wear Butler gear out to eat on game days the workers always ask how the game was or comment on Butler's performance.

Health & Safety:
Instead of roaming and making sure the students are safe, the police usually just want to give out drinking and parking tickets. When I was a freshman the police were out to help you, but now they are out to get your money and get you in trouble.
College Sophomore 2013-11-11T15:25:25Z
I haven't used campus dining since freshman year, but I heard it has improved.
College Sophomore 2013-11-11T15:24:48Z
I have never been pressured into doing drugs, and never really knew people used drugs until I went to certain fraternities and got to know more people.
College Sophomore 2013-11-11T15:23:43Z
Butler wireless can be very slow at time, I can't skype on butler internet. You need a personal computer for sure, but I have always used the Butler printers.
College Sophomore 2013-11-11T15:22:10Z
We need more facilities because of the growing student population. Housing is always an issue, and finding a place to study is hard too.
College Sophomore 2013-11-11T15:20:49Z
Not sure if I would choose my school again, I have made friends that I wouldn't change for the world, but it costs a lot to go here and I am surrounded by rich Chicago people.
College Sophomore 2013-11-11T15:20:02Z
Not really diverse in terms of ethnicity, but becoming better.

Health & Safety:
THe HRC doctors are very good and the BUPD is more concerned with the safety of the students than actually getting them in trouble.
College Freshman 2013-11-10T23:13:49Z
Fall is absolutely the most beautiful time on campus!
College Freshman 2013-11-10T23:13:11Z
There are 2 options for freshman in parking permits. the I lot pass cost $80 bucks but you have to walk easily a mile to get to the lot from campus. the other option is the B pass which cost $150 but you can park at your residence hall, that is if there are spots.
College Freshman 2013-11-10T23:10:29Z
The dorms are very limiting on campus. For freshman there are 2 options for girls and one for guys. The RAs are very strict about alcohol and quiet hours.
College Freshman 2013-11-10T23:08:41Z
You need a car on campus or you need a reliable friend to go anywhere.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
