Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

At Cal Poly Pomona, the SoCal attitude slowly spreads to those that haven’t been raised with it, creating a relaxed atmosphere on campus. Students aren’t intensely competitive here as some would be at say, USC or Berkeley, but that doesn’t mean that a large percentage of students don’t constantly push for that high GPA.

Most people are commuters who work as well as attend classes. Many students don’t expect to have a great college experience when they come to CPP because it is known as a commuter school. More often than not, people are surprised at how involved so many students are. You would be impressed to hear how many things an average Cal Poly student juggles, between work, classes, Greek life, and participating in other clubs on campus. When students take advantage of all the fun clubs and activities offered on campus, they always end up admitting how enjoyable their time in college was.

Cal Poly is a unique university, with its hands-on learning policy, widespread diversity, and large spread of majors. It’s located in an area where people from all over can commute to it conveniently enough, making the people you meet varied and always interesting. With Cal Poly, how much you put into the experience is how much you’ll get out. If you avoid joining any clubs and keep to yourself, you won’t benefit from the next four years. But if you push yourself out there, you’ll discover just how much fun attending Cal Poly Pomona can truly be.

Love the BSC

As a student at Cal Poly Pomona one of my favorite places to be is in the BSC. It has good food choices, lots of room to socialize and to do homework. One of the best spots on campus.
