Cal Poly Pomona - Campus StrictnessCollege Prowler4.62
College Prowler Take
First of all, as a warning: do not abuse the ducks on campus in any way—even the geese that like to peck at car tires and chase you down the sidewalks. This is one thing that the campus is very strict on, and you will be fined for it! However, the rest of campus is far from being strict. You can get away with doing a lot. If you are in the dorms, the RA’s don’t seem to care too much about what you do; just don’t get out of control. People drink all the time in the dorms and hardly ever get caught, and if they do, nothing is said. Smoking weed, on the other hand, is a different story. If that’s your thing, make sure not to do it inside the dorms. The Residential Suites are a bit more private, so you can probably get away with doing more in there. People drink all the time there, and sometimes they smoke in the bathrooms. As long as you keep to yourself and don’t disturb others, you will probably have nothing to worry about.
As far as the rest of the campus goes, the University Police and Parking Services are hardcore about one thing: parking. You will get a load of tickets if you don’t abide by the parking rules. It’s out of control! It’s pure luck if you get away with a parking violation. To sum it up: you can drink and fornicate in your on-campus living facility—just don’t park without a permit or torture the ducks.

I have never heard of anyone getting in trouble for drinking. There have been many cases that I heard of involving people getting in trouble for academic purposes. I don't know much about this topic.

Not a Lot of Opportunities to Get in Trouble

Other than drinking in the campus housing underage, there aren't enough events or people who stick around after class to do stuff. Speeding is a big no-no on campus.

Strict at Times

Overall the campus is pretty lenient on most things, drinking isn't a huge deal to them unless the cops get involved. If you're in the dorms...If they catch you drinking in the dorms there are punishments, but not too severe. However, there's a zero tolerance policy with illegal substances in the dorms. You're booted on your first offense if you're caught smoking weed in your room. I've seen it happen to at least four kids this year.
