College Prowler Take

Pomona is surrounded by a ton of excellent places to eat. The diversity in culture brings out some of the best ethnic food around. But just like everything else, you will probably have to jump on the freeway to get to most of them. If you are going out with friends,
T. Philips and Heroes are the best. They have huge portions (so you
can split a plate and pay less) as well as great atmosphere and awesome drinks—and you get to throw peanuts on the floor! If you are taking that special someone out and have a few extra bucks, check out Shogun. But if you are broke, In-N-Out is always cheap and good, and maybe some Coldstone afterward will comfort your sweet-tooth. And if your parents are down to visit, Johnny Carino’s or Xochimilco Mexican Restaurant are known to have some of the best Italian and Mexican food in the area. The best places to go without getting on the freeway would be the hole-in-the-wall places along Temple Avenue, such as Scoreboards, Cantina Express, or any of the restaurants off of Valley Boulevard and Grand Avenue like L&L Hawaiian BBQ, Robek’s, and Coldstone. If you want to take the 10-minute freeway trip out to Westfield Eastland mall in West Covina, however, you’ll find TGI Fridays, Chili’s, Johnny Carino’s, Pick Up Stix, and many other popular restaurants. BJ’s is a definite favorite. They have thick-crust pizza, a brewery, and you have to try a Pazookie—a warm cookie with ice cream on top. TGI Friday’s is popular for a late-night bite, too, since they are open until 1 a.m. and have some of the best drinks.

Great Late Night Spots.

When you've been partying all night and you are craving some food, there are some very nice spots to hit up around Pomona. Other than that, if you're looking for quality restaurants, there are a few options.

Convenience is a huge thing for college students on the go, but not a lot of these places are prevalent to having student discounts to accommodate us. There is a vast variety of places but it would also help if there were healthier choices as well. Chick fil A and Chipotle are pretty good and have been huge supporters for bronco athletics!!!
