According to guys, most girls at Cal Poly are pretty good-looking, if not downright hot. If you’re talking to girls, the guys are okay, mostly of all varieties. The reality is that there is someone for everyone here. Someone will fit the type you are looking for. There are gangsters, goths, cowboys and cowgirls, beach bums, nerds, skaters, and anything else in-between. Due to the fact that the weather here is usually warm, a lot of skin is on display, which means that girls are more conscious about their bodies. They work out more, jog more, and try to keep in shape. Guys usually go either way. They either don’t care much at all or they obsess about weightlifting. Good news for guys—most girls generally don’t care as much about what guys look like, as long as they are showering and shaving. Enormous muscles and beaters tell women that you have an ego and an attitude. So go for reasonably fit if you’re looking for the ladies. Students Speak Out

The girls at Cal Poly are the hottest girls on any campus. They know how to take care of themselves, and the gym is always crowded with these girls. The guys are all over the board. We have redneck agriculture majors and geeky engineers, but almost all of the majors have some good looking guys.

There are a lot of good looking people. There are all different types of guys: your typical frat boys, good ol' country boys, and jocks. The girls are really pretty, but there are a bunch of the fake, blonde Barbie dolls in Greek letters walking around campus.

Cal Poly is like all college...
Cal Poly is like all college campuses full of beautiful people—everyone is generally pretty nice and focused on the education. We are a mostly white campus, but we have pretty diverse backgrounds. The school is kind of conservative probably because we have a small liberal arts college.

Social Scene
Finding a group to fit in with at Cal Poly is not a problem. There is a place for anyone, since Cal Poly has a large variety of different social scenes. Joining a club guarantees activity. You can choose to hang out with people from a similar major, an interest group, or cultural background.
Hookups or Relationships?
Either one is available if you want them to be. There are plenty of single guys and girls, and most of them are looking for a significant other. How long or how deep that relationship turns out to be really depends on the individuals involved.
Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls
The best place is definitely in an interest club on campus. Study groups are also a nice way to go. Lots of students meet people in classes or after hours at dance clubs or bars.
Dress Code
Wear whatever you want. The usual in warm weather is flip-flops and shorts, but otherwise anything goes. Honestly, no one cares. This isn't high school anymore. You'll see people walking around in pajamas for early morning classes.
