College Prowler Take
Any visitor would be hard-pressed to find alumni who are unhappy with their stay at Cal Poly. In fact, graduates tend to be very sentimental about their college days and enjoy discussing time-tested sights and activities with current students whenever they run into them. While current students may be unhappy with one or two aspects of their college life, the overall experience is a positive one. The education is hands-on and prepares students well for professional life. The social scene helps to form lifelong friendships and contacts within the industry. In fact, so many people enjoy their stay at Cal Poly that they decide to settle down either in San Luis, or one of the adjoining cities, so that they can continue to benefit from the ideal climate, the optimistic outlook that comes from people in their 20s, and the sense of community in the area. The overall student attitude is that the time at Cal Poly will definitely become some of the most memorable years of your life.

I couldn't imagine being anywhere else. I wasn't sure at first if Cal Poly was the place that I wanted to be, but after visiting and now being here, it really is my perfect college. There is such an awesome sense of community and pride in the school. We love where we're at, who we are, and what we achieve. Academics are hard, but the classes are interesting and fun. The quarter system means that it's fast paced, so you have to study. You can't slow down. The great social atmosphere and the opportunities balance it out. Plus, it's 80 in January—I couldn't ask for anything more.

Cal Poly is a really good school, and I am glad that I came here. I would definitely come here again, if I had the option. Cal Poly wasn't my first choice, but I'm glad that I didn't get into Harvey Mudd because I've really enjoyed Cal Poly.

It's been amazing. It's a great place to live and study. There are wonderful people. You have to put in the hours if you want to the get the most out of it, but it's not so intense that you can't relax on the weekends. Just learn a good balance.
