Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The food options on campus are really good compared to other schools. There is a wide variety of fast food places, from Carl’s Jr., Panda Express, and Taco Bell in the Marketplace—to Subway, Round Table, and Kikka in the BSC. With time, every student eventually gets sick and tired of the food on campus, but this can be said for every other school.

The food in the Los Olivos Commons is better than most other schools. This is thanks in part to the fact that throughout the year the Commons holds themed food days, such as “Soul Food” or “Mongolian.” It puts a fun spin on food and keeps students from feeling that their meals are always repetitive. The Commons is also a buffet style, with vegetarian options included. There are eight different meal plans to choose from, but be warned: in an effort to avoid wasting those meal points, students sometimes eat just to eat.

If you want to avoid the Freshman 15, don’t pick the meal plan with the highest points possible—you will never use them all! Because U-Hour is from 12 p.m. to
1 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday and no one has class, the lines for food at the BSC and the Marketplace are always ridiculously long during this time. Unless you have class right at 1 p.m. and you’re starving, you’re better off waiting for the crowd to die down and head back to class before braving the lines to get something to eat.

Bronco Bucks

Bronco Bucks are my life savior. These pay for anything that are not apart of the usual meal plan. Sometimes I use these instead of my meal plan because the food at the Commons can get tiresome.

Variety

There are plenty of options in the dining hall, and a few fast food places on campus. And if you are in a hurry there are plenty of vending machines.

Good but Tiresome

The dining options on campus are all great...in moderation. There are a handful of dining options but the pricing of these options makes it feel like some places are too expensive to be a day-to-day viable option. That being said there is always somewhere to eat if you just need something.
