Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Let’s be honest: Pomona is not a very safe city. Pomona is known to have a high crime rate and more than a few seedy areas. However, Cal Poly Pomona in itself is a very safe area. Within the confines of CPP property, University Police patrol constantly for any criminal or suspicious activity. Their station is located on campus next to the parking structure, and all of their reports are put into the “Police Blotter” in the Poly Post. Definitely read this section; along with being informative, a lot of times it’s entertaining to read about the crazy calls they get! There are tall blue poles prominently displayed throughout the parking lots, which are emergency phone stations. The Bronco Express shuttle runs all around campus, the parking lots, and the Village. Also, CPP has an escort service at night that can drive you to your car if you don’t feel safe.

If you decide to venture outside of CPP grounds for a party (and let’s face it, you will), just be smart about it. The fraternity houses are smack dab in the middle of Pomona, so make sure when you go to parties you bring a friend to walk to and from your car with. When you get to your car, lock your doors. Just play it smart and you can have a fun and safe time in Pomona.

Very Safe

The Police service here at Cal Poly Pomona does a good job at keeping its students here safe. I feel very comfortable walking around on campus late at night knowing that if there was ever an emergency that there will be several emergency phone stations for me to use and that the police service is very close to us.

Safety First.

Cal Poly Pomona offers a variety of security features for faculty, staff, and more importantly students. At night there is no need to fear there are lite up areas and plenty amount of Emergency Stations that are always working, and allow security to be informed to go to that position immediately. I have never had to worry about my situation at Cal Poly Pomona, I have a car too its never been broken into and its clearly patrolled by Parking Security and Services. Campus Crime when it rarely happens you are 100 percent notified and made aware that something happened.

Totally Safe

The campus is really safe. There is a police station on campus, they are pretty lenient. Keep car doors closed because people like to steal parking permits and any type of electronics if insight.
