Long Beach is a very comfortable, laid-back, and amazing city. The favorite place for students to visit is the beach. Many students love relaxing in the cool Cali breeze and sunshine, catching waves and having fun with friends. This kind of weather is almost year-round, so students are always at the beach. Downtown Long Beach is a great hangout spot, located off Pine Avenue. Gameworks and the Aquarium of the Pacific are also located in this area, and these places are very entertaining. Belmont Shore is also a cool place not too far away from campus. There are many shops and eateries around town, too. Seventh Street is jam-packed with fun places to go like The Pike; there is also the Museum of Latin American Art nearby. And, plus, Los Angeles is not too far away, either (without traffic, about 30 minutes). Some students also find themselves in Lakewood, Huntington, Newport Beach, and in Orange County, as well.

CSULB has a great location. If students want a calm, serene experience, there are definitely areas and places to go, like coffee shops, museums, and bookstores. On the other hand, there is a plethora of places where students can grab a bite to eat, go shopping, or just relax! Students don't complain about the liveliness of the town. Being so close to Los Angeles, there is always something to do and somewhere to go. Students can drive, walk, or take the bus to wherever, and it's easy to look up interesting places on the Internet.
