The computers on campus at CSUMB are extremely reliable. All the computers are new Macs and are capable of running Windows on their systems. Although most students bring their own laptops from home, the school computers can be very useful. Since they are somewhat new systems, the public campus computers are very fast and are equipped with all the latest software. The library is definitely the hub of campus technology as students can take advantage of computer labs, printers, tech help, and copy machines. The library also allows students to rent out Mac laptops free of charge with proof of student ID.

CSUMB’s Internet network is exceptionally fast and very dependable. The school’s WiFi covers the most popular sections of campus such as in dorms, classrooms, and main facilities. Many students are also surprised to find coverage in less common areas, which is very convenient for those who cannot make it to a main WiFi hotspot. Overall, I’d say that CSUMB’s computers surpass any expectations of a Cal State’s technology capabilities. The broad Internet connection, network speed, and current hardware help keep students and faculty connected as an advanced technological community.
