They are pretty strict on parking. I always see cops checking for parking permits.

Unfortunately, I have not had time to attend a game of any sort. I have been to the gym which is an amazing facility, proven by the fact that it is always packed with people.

In the dorms there is a stench of weed sometimes, but that doesn't mean everyone is doing it although I am sure there are quite a few that do. As for alcohol, the only times I have seen it was off campus or when I see people staggering away from wherever they were drinking it.

There are the buses and the metro for those that live further away from campus and there is a shuttle bus that drives students from the dorm to the school which is nice but sometimes unnecessary and crowded. As for long distance, I hope you have a car if you need to go anywhere, other wise you need to take a few buses or walk to the metro.

The only true problem I have is with the dorm process, registration process, and the transfer student advisors. They are all terrible. Its difficult to get a dorm, even harder to get any classes you need, so hard that the average years spent trying to graduate from CSUN is 6 and a half. The transfer-advisors were so horrible. They had me down as an incoming freshmen, even though I transferred as a junior, the person I was supposed to meet with wasn't even there that day and did not tell any of the kids they had appointments with that she would have to reschedule, and even when they got things sorted out they were unsure if they could even fit me in to talk about classes. When I had my consultation they forgot to remove the hold on my registration so I still couldn't register for classes even though my registration date was open.

They are parking Nazi's and that's all I can say about how strict they are about certain things. I have not experienced any other types of problems that they would handle.

So long as you have good roommates, then you are golden. The facilities are great, they are older but not yet outdated, everything works to a tee and if it does not work the maintenance staff is there as quickly as possible to fix it. The only problem with housing is the lack of parking near each dorm building. Some dorms have parking but most do not. The housing process sucks, there are over 500 people on the waitlist for housing and it is a basic free for all upon the date of picking dorm rooms. The survey you fill out to meet people you may want to dorm with are questions that will not help match you to a good roommate.

The way people act towards college students is mixed, we are one step above high school kids but not quite to the accepting adult stage. Some people are great towards the students others are not. Its a hit and miss situation based on the retailers experience with the students.

There are two computer labs on campus for student use outside of the classroom, excluding the computers placed on each floor of the library. The printing labs are fantastic, you have the ability to print from your own personal computer on to their printers, with a free 20 page quota each day. The network speed is pretty average, while the reliability of their no login page is random. However, it is a pretty good network to be working on and has not failed me yet.

From what I can see off campus housing is all around the school, so its close, convenient, with parking and safety. Other than that I have no idea about the pros and cons, availability, cost, landlords, etc. I live on campus in the dorms.

I don't really eat on campus, so I don't know exactly how it works. I have just seen the places as I walk through campus. There is a small food court offering fast food options and a jamba juice. There is a local pub on campus which offers food and a max of two beers for each student over the age of 21, and next to that is a subway. Then that leaves the cafeteria, which I have never set foot in.

Health & Safety:
Really the only time I see police officers is when they are handing out tickets or closing the gates to the dorms. There have also been a good amount of weird, odd end crimes; like dorms being broken into while people are inside napping, people standing over others while they sleep and touching their legs, there was a person that would grope you if you didn't give them a hug, but you never heard about if the person was caught or what ever happened to them. Mostly the only thing I hear about the security on campus is that they are offering a free BBQ dinner if you come talk to them. But there are a few safety classes about mace and self defense, which is very handy.

Its great so long as you know where to look. There are a lot of little parties that go on around the campus, you just have to know who to ask. So far I have seen around three parties that offer transportation out to other nightlife around campus. The one that I did go to was a club night with one of the Frat houses, however, the transportation was so messed up that I almost ended up not going, I had to drive my own car and get a refund from the person in charge of transportation. Other than that it was alright. There are a couple clubs that offer underage nightlife, which is nice, unfortunately they occur during the week usually on nights before I have class.

There are so many opportunities that have been presented to the students that are Kinesiology majors at my school. The club sends out newsletters every week letting the students know exactly what is going on in the Kin major world. They offer certifications of every kind when the opportunity arises and they have also given the students at least three internship opportunities and it is only the first semester of the year. The only problem is the amount of Kinesiology majors at my school makes it so hard to get into any of the Kinesiology classes. Its very competitive.

So far most of my professors have been great. The work load is not too much and the classes where it feels like there is a ton of work to do are the Saturday classes which do not meet as often and require some at home learning. The biggest problem I have with the academics at my school is the registration process. I am a junior and had a registration date of December 5 when other students began registering in early November. By the time I was able to register for classes all of them were full. I am now waitlisted for all of the classes I absolutely need to take, putting me at risk of not getting in to those classes meaning that I may get kicked out of my dorm because I do not meet the unit requirement for living on campus. It has been a nightmare.
