Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Computers at CSUN are an issue receiving little attention by the administration. Due to the decentralized nature of the campus, each college has their own computer lab, and each computer lab has its own policy on printing. In some labs printing is free, in other labs printing is free if you bring your own paper, and still in others you have to pay 10 cents per page to print. In the library you have to put money onto a card and use the card to print. Since the the card costs $1, you might want to find somewhere else to print. Although not many students bring their computers to campus, you will definitely be saving time and inconvenience if you do, especially toward the end of the semester when many of the computer labs fill up, there can be a 20-minute wait to use a computer in the library.

If you bring your own laptop, you can hook it up and chill in the Freudian Sip or on the second floor of the Sierra Center. You can access wireless Internet anywhere on campus and in the dorms. If you feel the need to go off-campus for awhile, head on over to the Muddhouse Café and use their wireless Internet for free. Many students agree that CSUN’s T1 Internet connection, accessible anywhere on campus, is one of the most redeemable qualities about the school.

Plenty of Labs All Over Campus

The computer labs at Cal Sate Northridge are always accesible to the students, there are plenty of places through out the campus where students can use the computers. There are also several labs that let you print up to twenty free pages. If you bring your own computer the WIFI works very well.

Labs Are Almost Always Available

there are a number of computer labs available to student on campus and by the dorms. They are almost always open and have a sufficient amount of computers and space. The number of copies and pages you are allowed to print is exeedes the number usually needed.

Good Tech

very good amount of labs. sometimes theres not enough computers but wait times are short. Lots of students own their own laptops and wi-fi access is for the most part reliable except in a few cases when it acts weird.
