Facts

Advice on Finding a Job/Internship When finding a job or an internship go to the Career Center where they can help you write a résumé, cover letter, and prepare for an interview. Internships usually have application deadlines, so begin your search early in the semester. Let people—your friends, professors, and staff—know what you are looking for because they might bring an opportunity to the table. Attend any job fairs in order to practice talking to potential employers, and above all, don’t get discouraged. You might apply to numerous places before you even get a call back. Search everywhere, the most unconventional search methods can really pay off. Check out craigslist.org for internship offers. Find out if your major offers any internship programs. Start networking your first semester. You never know if a friend or professor might be able to help you out later.
