Awesome for Music, Jazz Studies

I am in the Jazz studies department. It was one of the best decisions of my life to choose to go here for a jazz degree. All of the teachers are fantatsic and the community within the department is great. I have learned so much and made great friendships.

Not Enough

I dont know what the cost would be, but the new parking lots are not productive enough to better the constant waves of traffic

The Best Campus

i love it here, there is always something fun to do so you never get bored. the staff is so helpful. there are lot of resources available.

Shuttle Bus

The Shuttle bus is very useful especially for those who come from the dorms.

I'm No Really Part of That Scene, So I Don't See It

I'm not that aware of the drug and alcohol scene at my school. Since it's a commuter school, the campus life is not like that of other schools. Maybe at the dorms the school has, drugs and alcohol are more visible.

Nice Neighborhood

Northridge is a suburb of Los Angeles in the San Fernando Valley. It's in a nice neighborhood. I think residents of the Valley are proud to have CSUN as their own. Most of the students are from the Valley themselves and find it easy to live at home and commute to school.

Always Something to Do!

There is always something to do on campus, many parties, dances, rallies. If you do dont want to party on campus there are many clubs avialable only a couple minutes from campus.

Good on Most Days

There are many labs on campus but they are limited during testing schedules. Come early otherwise you are out of luck.

Weather Is Ok

I cant complaing about weather in fall nor spring. However, it is very hot when I go to summer school.

Great Weather

The weather at CSUN is always pleasant. It's never too cold nor it's too hot. It is just a perfect weather to go do some walking or runnning.

Diverse

There is a great wealth of diversity in CSUN, and you can almost always find someone to connect with. Along with a great many clubs and organizations, you can always find someone with your shared interests.

Balances

At CSUN the social life seems very distant. From personal experience a lot of the guys and girls are very distant in classes and not very interactive. It could be because of the classes or the teachers or the level of classes, but I am not sure. When it comes to concerts on campus or when there are sorority and fraternity booths on campus, they all welcome you to their booths.

People's Interests

There are a lot of homosexuals on campus. I don't have a problem with it is just something I would have to get use to.

Campus Life = Greek Life

The Greek Life on Campus is really the only thing to do on campus if you want to be involved. Other than that, there isn't much of a campus life. I personally feel that the Greek life is overrated. Everyone that I know who is in a Frat or Sorority is obsessed with it to the point where it gets irritating to the friends who are not involved. I've been to a few of the parties and everyone was trashed. Girls were half naked and making idiots out of themselves and the guys were taking advantage of them. It's definitely not my scene.

Where Should I Go to Eat

There are so many places to choose from but they are only on one side of town, which is inconvenient for a person who commutes and gets to only drive to the 405 S on-ramp and back.

Sunny and Beautiful

The weather is beautiful almost always sunny. After all this is southern california! Even on cold days a jacket will help. Very rarely rains.

Food on Campus

I have had a great experience with campus food. There is a lot of variety on campus for food and they keep adding new places to eat. My favorite is the campus coffee shop freudian sip. There are about 6 on campus and they have amazing coffee and a great atmosphere to study at!

The One Positive!

The weather in the valley is actually really nice. During the summer months the weather really heats up, as temperatures reach well over 100 degrees. The nice southern California weather perception holds true in this case. It rarely rains and never comes close to snowing. Overall, the weather is definitely one of the perks of attending CSUN, as the girls on campus dress accordingly.

Great Urban Entertainment

Being located in Los Angeles right smack in the middleof Southern California, CSUN has plenty of things to keep students entertained on off days from school. Many students on the weekend will drive to Hollywood for its bright and festive night life. Students will also hit up many of the local amusement parks such as Disneyland, Six Flags Magic Mountain, and Universal Studios. However on those hot California days many of us like to head to the beaches, the most popular Venice Beach which is full of unique shops, food, and people. Many of the students have an attitude of adventure and want to take full advantage of what California has to offer.

Campus dining at Cal State Northridge is great. There are a variety of options open.

All Topics Involved

Our athletics at the university involve a large amount of student involvement, fan support, and school spirit. At Cal State Northridge, us students are all considered a team.

Getting Around

Honestly I haven't really noticed public transportation around school. I know there's a shuttle that goes around the school but that's about it. I live about 2 miles from the school and I take the bus that does hourly intervals which makes it quite a hassle in the morning. Buses should be available more frequently. some people walk skateboard and even bike. There's all kind of transportation at CSUN.

There's Food Too

At CSUN not only is it sport based. There are tons of dining places. There's a Burger King and Panda Express. They have places like the Freudian Sip for young social interactive students to meet and and drink their favorite latte. To dine there's a place that spews out small bursts of mist for those hot days.

Financial Aid

I love how fast I got my financial aid check. I got it a couple of days before school, so it was perfect timing for me to get my books and parking pass. Loved it.

Drugs

They have everything, find the right person and dont get caught. btw I dont do any narcotics.
