Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

It’s unanimous: the Sac State parking situation is horrible. There are thousands more students than there are parking spaces, so parking lots are a jungle during certain times of day. People who arrive on campus in the late morning to mid-afternoon can drive around forever without finding an empty space. Sometimes there are openings in the overflow lot across from the Alumni Center, but even that area gets crowded. If you get to school from about 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., good luck competing with everyone else. Currently, a new parking garage, Parking Structure 3, is being built in front of the library. Until construction is completed, though, over a thousand parking spaces are being blocked off or covered by the construction site and crew, so it’s even more difficult to find a space. Drivers use different strategies to park their vehicles. Some of them camp out in the middle of aisles with their motors running to wait for others to get into their parked cars and leave so they can pull into the empty spots. Other drivers drive behind students and follow them as they walk to their cars from class. You can feel their hungry eyes on your back as you approach your vehicle. Bolder drivers pull up beside you and offer to drive you to your parking space to save them the trouble of having to stalk you. You may even find yourself using one of these strategies if necessary.

Parking

Parking permits are very expensive, tickets and fines are ridiculous. There are 3 parking structures, but 2 have tiny parking space and the 3rd one is further away from school. Parking is not that great here.

Awful Parking

Parking permits are WAY too expensive, and parking spaces are a joke. You have to get there hours early to get a parking spot. They are strict with ticketing as well.
