Competitive Nursing Program
Hello,
My name is Joan Bonzo and currently attending Sacramento State. I'm a nursing major who have attended csus for 2 years now. To be honest, when I first started out as a freshman in college, my parents kept forcing me to become a nurse. Unfortunately, as a freshman in college I had no interest in becoming a nurse because I have not found what I really like to do. Luckily, I took this one nursing class in my sophomore year that had help me find out the reason why I should be a nurse. My nursing professor who was so committed to her profession taught me the problems in our Health Care delivery systems, such as many patients who aren't receiving quality care. That's why I want to become a nurse so I can give my best care to my patients and to my family. Unfortunately, the budget cuts in California is affecting our faculty because they are cutting off their wages that also means that our Professor is less likely available too. In addition, the nursing program at our school is very competitive to get into which I don't mind. I believe every nursing program should have a high standards when it comes to accepting students into the program. This will make sure that the students who are becoming a nurse will give good quality care to patients.
