Awful Parking

Parking permits are WAY too expensive, and parking spaces are a joke. You have to get there hours early to get a parking spot. They are strict with ticketing as well.

A Good Time

I really enjoy the nightlife. Because I am over 21 I do not participate in house parties any longer I do not feel comfortable drinking with possible underage drinkers. The bar scene downtown is what I enjoy the most. To get a good drink at an average cost Dive Bar is your best bet. It is for the most part safe and always a good time. Transportation is great as well. there is a light-rail that will take you downtown and taxis on the way back are fairly cheap.

Competitive Nursing Program

Hello,

My name is Joan Bonzo and currently attending Sacramento State. I'm a nursing major who have attended csus for 2 years now. To be honest, when I first started out as a freshman in college, my parents kept forcing me to become a nurse. Unfortunately, as a freshman in college I had no interest in becoming a nurse because I have not found what I really like to do. Luckily, I took this one nursing class in my sophomore year that had help me find out the reason why I should be a nurse. My nursing professor who was so committed to her profession taught me the problems in our Health Care delivery systems, such as many patients who aren't receiving quality care. That's why I want to become a nurse so I can give my best care to my patients and to my family. Unfortunately, the budget cuts in California is affecting our faculty because they are cutting off their wages that also means that our Professor is less likely available too. In addition, the nursing program at our school is very competitive to get into which I don't mind. I believe every nursing program should have a high standards when it comes to accepting students into the program. This will make sure that the students who are becoming a nurse will give good quality care to patients.

Rain

The only real threat to the campus is rain. When it pours, the classes are far a part, so plan on getting wet between classes

My First Semester

I would definitely do it all over again if i have to chance. On my first semester at Sacramento State i have the opportunity to meet a lot of new people. I am thankful for finding my first friends in college after not knowing anyone. What makes my school unique is the relationship you can make with your classmates as well as your professors, there is nothing better than clicking with both. It just makes your college experience the best.

Sacramento State Transportation

In Sacramento State the transportation methods are really helpful. We have buses routs that are really handy and will take you to town as well as some popular places in Sacramento. They also have the night shuttle that can transport you from campus to the parking lot.

Dinning Options

When i first started Sacramento State the food was great. They have the usual Fast food restaurants, and a couple of family own restaurants. Personally the food is not the healthiest to have other than Subway and Togos. Now being my second semester in Sacramento State i find myself bring my own lunch to school rather then buying lunch on campus. I find it to be a lot more affordable as well as healthy.

Sacramento City

Our city occupies a pretty huge territory, however, there are not many attractions around. The only plus is that there are a lot of sports complexes and facilities such as various fitness centers, racquet clubs and recreational parks where people can exercise.

Terrible

The parking at sac state is aweful, the parking structures are full by and even if they arent the spaces are so tiny that u can get out of your car after you park. Also the permit is expensive and if you need an elevator most of the buttons are broken.

Fine, but Expensive

Living on campus, or commuting, people get hungry after and in between classes. The food there is good, you have a wide variety to choose from, but if you want anything healthy you're going to have to fork over some dollars; and those dollars add up.

They provide a lot of help to students. I’m a freshman, and they’ve been really helpful to me. There should be something to help freshmen to be more familiar with school and get comfortable.

The school’s pretty good. I could be doing worse things—smoking crack, joining a gang. It could be a more on-campus school with more spirit, but it’s a commuter school.

It’s been a good experience,...

It’s been a good experience, besides parking. The schedules of my classes are very good. Availability of resources and tuition is decent. Anything you need for your classes is on campus. The school provides a good opportunity for education at a minimal cost. Unfortunately, they’re taking more students than they have parking for. They need to have a designated area for full-time seniors because they’ve been here the longest, and it’s their last year here. High schools have that, so we should too.

Not as bad as at my former school. The occasional pothead is often seen, but the dealers tend to run things off campus. Even the new policies on cigarette smoking have lessened the sightings of users.

With all of these Java Cities...

With all of these Java Cities around, I’m pretty sure caffeine’s one of them. Caffeine’s kind of an invisible drug that slides under the radar. Because it’s common, people don’t think of it as a widely used drug, but it is. It doesn’t have the stigma of pot or crack, so no one refers to it as a big bad drug, but they should. Look at how many people drink coffee and soda.
