I Lived in Noordewier which is the oldest hall on campus. The rooms were about average size, but it was a challenge to stack furniture in a way that fit both the safety requirements and the size of the room. There were a few times during the year that the heat or air went out, and sometimes the water just seemed to never heat up. But other than that the cleaning crew is great and kept all public area including the basement and lobby very clean and a friendly atmosphere to hang out with friends.

The dorms are pretty cool BUT there are lots of rules and restrictions; very limited open house hours. Upperclassmen have no open house hours...but there are still tonnes of rules to follow like: No alcohol on campus.

College isn't cheap, and Calvin is by far not the exception. The dorms are all clean and well-maintained, and each floor has members elected specifically to integrate the others in floor activities. The best housing, the KHvR dorm, is ironically the farthest from everything else on campus."

I love living on campus! I love the zero tolerance drinking policy, the many places to study on campus, and that there are so many resources available to us. We have a rhetoric center (to help with papers and speeches), a counseling center, everyday chapel (not required), chaplains we can meet with, etc etc, all for free. I also love that there are so so many events in the dorms, in the gym, for worship, in the dining halls, etc. Plenty to do. Also, I love the dining halls- lots of options for food.

The dorms are starting to show their age, but are decent. All of the dorms are not that far from academic buildings. Students are usually assigned to a dorm by the college in there freshman year. You are required to stay on campus for the first 2 years, except for certain cases or you are living with your parent/guardian.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
