The school is very strict about alcohol and drug use on campus. Underage drinking is especially prohibited. Off campus students are also subject to punishment if needed. Noise and visitation in dorms are regulated daily especially during exam weeks which is very convenient.

Very strict. From what I've heard if you're caught drinking you are immediately put on probation. That being said, if you're not an idiot it's easy to get away with. Regardless, Calvin does their part in trying to enforce their rules including open house hours in which guys/girls can visit each others' dorms

There are open house hours to prevent males and females from contact after certain hours in rooms. There are RAs that do rounds to make sure everything is okay. They do not affect our academic or social lives in any way, they are there just to make the campus safer.

Calvin College is not exactly strict. Being a Christian college the basic rules of no alcohol or drugs is expected. However, in every other aspect I have yet to encounter something that seems too extreme. From my experience Calvin has done a great job in those areas.

Open House Hours – They're kinda ridiculous. You can't be in the opposite genders room on Mondays, Tuesday, and Thursdays and have specific hours the other days of the week.
Luckily, most people live off campus after then, so it's not the end of the world. But it is ridiculous.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
