I absolutely love how I was able to get housing and how helpful Student Life and the housing department were.

There are many duplexes and other housing options available within a mile of campus. They go quickly though so you need to get started on off campus housing early.

They make sure you know when and how to apply, there are meetings for sophomore students who consider moving to apartments where they present all functions they offer and other possible location where they might stay.

There are available apartments close by and they are relatively affordable

Apartments Versus Hosues – The school does a good job at promoting the on campus apartments as the most viable option for off campus housing. However, the apartments are run much like the dorms, including rules about male and female presence in rooms, "open hours," and the presence of RA's.
The houses in Grand Rapids offer a wide variety of locations, proximities, and parts of town. One could find a fairly conservative and small house very near campus, or bigger, older houses a little further away in a great part of town where there are lots of little shops, restaurants, bars, etc. or downtown offers (more expensive) housing as well. There are lots of off campus housing opportunities, but Calvin seems to only promote the apartments and nearby boring housing.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
