Financial aid is always hard for students but the department is very helpful and willing to work with you and your family to pay for school.

They are pretty generous with financial aid depending on your family's financial situation.

If you are smart and hard working Calvin really rewards you. If not... life sucks

Although Calvin is expensive, they are generous with their scholarships. They offer over 2,000 scholarships to undergraduate students and more become available to upperclassmen. As far as academic scholarships, they really take the time to look at you as a whole student, not just a test score or GPA. I not only received a scholarship above my eligible range (based on my ACT), but received the maximum scholarship given in that range. So put time into the application, it's worth it.

Calvin is very good and sincere at finding you financial aids and scholarships. I have had a very good experience with the financial aid office. They searched for many scholarships and got me connected to a good scholarship that I had not even applied to or known about. They send you lots of emails and notifications on how you're doing with the financial aid process. I would suggest doing lots of research for scholarships and then bringing any concerns to the financial office after.
