Public transportation is really good. The bus runs every 15 minutes during the week and every 30 minutes during the weekend. You can get a Calvin card for the bus, which is free and it will allow you to ride the bus for 0.50. I wouldn't suggest taking a cab. Did once to the movie theatre down the street and it cost over $20.00.

It is pretty easy to get around Grand Rapids at Calvin. Especially through the Rapid bus system. Calvin provides students with one free bus pass a year that gives students a discounted price to ride. There is also a bus stop right next to campus. As far as travel around campus, Calvin provides a bike borrowing system for only $5 a year, or you can rent your own bike for $50 a year. Long boards, skates, skate boards, etc. are also very common at Calvin. Calvin also provides a shuttle service to the airport on long breaks. Also campus safety will pick up any party of less than 3 people after dark if they call the campus non-emergency number.

Almost everything you need is within walking distance, and if you need to go farther, there are buses all around Grand Rapids- I believe each bus ride cost 50 cents with a Calvin provided pass.

It is convenient if you have a car, because most of the shops are not directly around the campus. However, the public transportation system is pretty good. The bus system is good and there are several bus stations right around the campus.

I am living on campus, so I don't know how difficult to commute. But I heard that the buses are not that often.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
