Campus dining at Canisius is not the best. Food selection mostly involves some sort of cheese, grease, pasta, or sauce. There is always a salad bar, but that's about where the exotic supply of "vegetables" ends. Fruit is also hard to find. There are little pre-made snack cups with sliced fruit, raw vegetables, and the like, but it is annoying not to have any good, solid meals that represent more than one or two food groups.
Meal plans can have varying amounts of meal "blocks" and "Griff Bucks," which can be spent on mostly anything: Tim Hortons, vending machines, snack bars, and coverage if your meal exceeds a "block." Typical meal plan cost ranges from $3,000 to $4,000 per year. Subway is a recent addition to campus, which opens up some slightly healthier options. Subway is not affiliated with meal plans, though, meaning you need cash, credit, or debit to buy its food instead of your ID card.
