Canisius places a lot of emphasis on academic integrity. Plagiarism, as it is at most universities, is a huge no-no, especially when professors are readily available for help, along with a tutoring center that is almost always open. Outside of the classroom, underage drinking is not tolerated. Of course, people get away with it, but Canisius is first and foremost a Jesuit institution—definitely not a party school and with no intention of being thought of as such. Public Safety officers are usually reasonable, if given proper respect, but they also have been known to break up large house parties (for no other reason than size).
In the dorms, some students like their RAs, some students complain about their RAs, and some students don't like the idea of an RA in the first place. But overall, RAs are caring individuals that try to make the dorm experience both enjoyable and safe. Canisius does try to promote a "family atmosphere" and encourages students to look out for one another.
