While white and Christian are the majority at Canisius, there is a noticeable minority presence. In addition to those of African American and Latino descent, there are many international students, as well.

Canisius is a very friendly and accepting campus; almost any culture or minority you can think of probably has a club or organization. Unity, the gay-straight alliance of Canisius, is the largest of these clubs. Other groups include (but are not limited to): Afro-American Society, Amici D'Italia, Asian American Society & Friends, LASAF (Latin American Students & Friends), OASIS (Organization of Arab Students in Solidarity), Spanish Club, Russian Club, and Global Horizons Association.
