It is defiantly available to those who are interested in it. However, it is not a dominate part of student life.

There will always be someone to complain about parking, but it is not unbearable at Capital University. There is always a spot and within walking distance of desired location. No need for a car on campus, but is nice. Permits are cheap and tickets are given to those who park without permits.

Being a student at Capital University is amazing.

Computer labs are in every building on campus. The university is wireless and also pc/mac friendly. I have never had a technical issue with being a student. The staff is also always able to help incase something happens to a comuter.

The university holds all students to an honor code. Nothing is forced to us and everything has purpose to why we do it. We are developed to be well rounded individuals.

I was directly admitted into the psychology program and have been taking classes in the field since my first day of being a student. Students are assigned to academic advisors which help assist students through their years of being in the field. They are mentors to students and make a huge difference.

Internships are very easily attained because of the career development office. They have an online job posting board that can communicate to students and employers about openings. The office also helps students write resumes, cover letters, interviews, etc. It is easy to get to internships because we are so close to Columbus, Oh and other touching cities. Responsibilities always vary depending on the type of internship attained. My specific internship is being a therapist aid for autistic children through Children's Hospital. I never had a concern finding an internship in my major because the head of the department also emails all the students about openings in the area.

Living on campus has been an amazing experience. Great sized rooms with lots of options. There are dorms, suites, apartments, and houses all included in on campus housing. Roommates and housing space is individually selected for all returning students. New students are assigned to rooms based off of a survey that the residence life director hand matches students off of. Maintenance is always available to fix things that break. Laundry rooms are free and in the basement of all buildings. I could not speak more highly of the campus housing at Capital University.

There is Columbus public transportation which can be effective. There is also an on-campus shuttle that has a few stops to help students get around. Students are also able to reserve shuttles if there is an event going on off campus;track meet, service project, etc.The area is also very safe so walking is never an issue. All students are able to also bring their own cars to campus, regardless of class standing. Parking passes are $80.00 per year which is pretty reasonable on a college budget. Parking is never too much of an issue because lots are separated for specific reasons.

All students at Capital University receive financial aid, which is amazing. It is an easy process where all information is taken off of the application and sent directly to the financial aid office so they can figure out what scholarships and loans students apply for. The only problem I faced with the system was that it did not portray a realistic amount for me to pay out of pocket. I did receive a lot in scholarship money, but it was not enough to be able to graduate. It has been a stressful time figuring out how to get more outside scholarships that can help cover the difference and they do not help with that. My advice for others in the future is to have open conversations with the office and to start early on with funding your education. Waiting until the last minute can put someone in the stressful situation I am facing of being unsure of graduation, simply because of funds.

Theres little places around campus to get pizza or get any food. Even little shops that are family owned. If you go too far down main st one way or the other youve ended up in the straight ghetto. Most people go to Easton or Ohio State.

It kinda sucks if your under 21 because the most popular bars that the school shuttles to are on wednesdays and thursdays.. but ontop of that its already embarrassing enough going to a bar on a bus. All the people that work there dread the Capital bus coming because all everyone does is throw up. I guess your other option would be going to Ohio State on the weekend because nothing exciting ever happens at Capital. If your over 21 though you have many more options. Downtown Columbus is only 15 min away that you can easily get a cab to and you have basically unlimited options.

Ive never lived off campus, but they are beautiful houses. They are all university owned and kept up VERY nicely compared to other colleges that are not owned by the University.

If youre expecting a "real" greek life experience, dont come to find it here. There is no greek housing, they meet in dorm basements or other random buildings on campus. Nor do they ever really do much except have random mixers. I really want to join greek life, but i refuse to here.

There is off campus housing but I have no clue anything about it because I am not eligible to live there yet.

The public transportation around the city can cost quite a bit. People are almost always taking their cars and going down town. However, the is a "drunk bus" that will take students down town to clubs but I am not sure how much it costs.

The campus food has given my and my roommate food poisoning a few times. I have to understand though because they have to feed thousands of students. If everything was quality, it would take longer and be more expensive. There are quite a few different places but the choices are not very unique.

It is located in Bexley, a suburb of columbus. It is also surrounded by Whitehall a very dangerous city.

Overall I feel like I have gotten screwed over. I was receiving very little aid because they looked at my parents income for the past year. They did not consider the fact that my dad lost his job and my parents separated. At such an expensive school with very little help to get a loan they basically told me there was no more help that they could offer me. They eventually considered me for "special circumstances"

I love my major so much. The faculty are very friendly and helpful. Also all of the students in my major and the education field are very friendly as well. The workload is moderate for my major but not over whelming. My gen ed classes pile on too much work.
College Sophomore 2013-11-06T21:05:30Z
Many of the professors for the general education classes suck. They take classes too seriously and pile on too much work which takes away from my classes in my field.
College Sophomore 2013-11-06T21:00:27Z
Capital is surrounded by a very poor neighborhood. There are a few sit down restaurants around but those are expensive and then there are fast food options such as chipotle.

Guys & Girls:
I personally only like the campus because of my major. The student separate into their own cliques bases on sororities. The guys on campus are all really nice. I give the guys a good rating.
College Sophomore 2013-11-06T20:55:42Z
If the weather is crappy many students do not attend classes thus affecting their grades and motivation.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
