| Advice on Finding a Job/Internship | |
The Career Center is a good resource to see what’s available, but they don’t always have all the answers for jobs and internships. Make friends with people that know people is the best advice for finding interesting jobs and internships. It’s all about the connections you have, and if your roommate’s dad has a job in the New York Yankees’ front office, he can probably pull more strings for you to get an internship there than the Career Center can. Finding a job after Carleton is a large concern for many students, and the Carleton Career Center’s mission is to help you succeed in that regard. It’s impossible to ignore the Career Center. They regularly send out e-mail reminders of important conferences and job fairs around campus and the Twin Cities. Giving Carleton’s track record with alumni giving, it’s apparent that graduated Carls don’t have too much trouble finding well-paying and satisfying work.
