There Are a Variety of Restaurants. Carlow University is located within walking distance of many restaurants, including Nellie's, Panera Bread, Primanti Brothers, Uncle Sam's, Caribou Coffee, Pizza Romano, etc.

There's Food Everywhere – The campus is in Oakland, Pa which has a great variety of foods from Asian to Italian to bigger chain restaurants like McDonalds. You can also take a bus to the Southside, Downtown or the Strip District to find good places to eat.

Fifth and Forbes Avenues. Between Fifth Ave. and Forbes Ave., you can find anything from fast food, to ice cream and frozen yogurt, to healthier grocery stores and restaurants, and Asian cuisine. From pizza to sushi, these streets in Oakland provide plenty of variety if you're willing to walk there. The Taiwan Cafe is a popular Asian restaurant that my friends and I like to go to a lot. It's small, but usually busy, but the service and the food is excellent. It's a little hard to find if you're not looking for it, but all you have to do is search for it online.

Off Campus eating is cool but can get a little pricey. A lot of restaurants offer student discounts and many places allow students to use flex accounts from their school's meal plans to eat out...(unfortunately Carlow doesn't offer that option for their students)

I would give the off-campus dining around my university a B average. There's a decent variety of restaurants including Asian, Indian, Mexican, American. There's your typical fast food, inexpensive style joints as well as nice, sit down, dinner date style restaurants. As a tight budget college student, I especially love and appreciate the three pizza shops on Atwood street: Sorrento's, Pizza Sola, and Pizza Romano who all have daily $5.00 large pizza specials (all day everyday). Most of the restaurants offer student discounts with a college id as well as programs where you can use credits or cash on your school id instead of using a debit card or cash (depending on what school you go too). Most of these places are in walking distance to any of the three college campuses in the community and less than a 10 minute drive to the other 5 major colleges in the downtown Pittsburgh area.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
