student body is a mix of all social and economic backgrounds with not much interaction.

The Culinary Arts program seems to be very good for this area.

So far it has been a very pleasurable experience.

Most all of the professors I have had so far have been very good in their field and willing to spend time with anyone that needs extra help.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The tuition is fair and the financial aid process while daunting for a first time adult student, have found the staff very helpful and accommodating with all of my questions and with pointing me in the right direction. I am receiving some finical aid which is a huge help at this point in time.

I am an Art major. The curriculum will transfer to any state university in NC. The work load is not too overwhelming, and I have been able to complete it while also working full time. I am an older student, with a previous Associate degree in Nursing from many years ago, and many of my general college credits were transferred without difficulty. The facilities for the art program could be better, but the instruction far compensates for any deficiencies in the facilities.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Tuition at the Community College level is affordable and very well worth what you will receive in education and credits that will transfer to a university if that is your goal. The financial aid process is the same virtually any where you go. You have to plan almost a year in advance and be sure you make application by the deadlines. That is the process, and I don't think the school could do much to change that. The financial aid officer was willing to listen to my needs and I was able to get an adjustment when my financial circumstances changed.

This is a small campus. There is a student center, but only soda machines are available. Unfortunately no coffee or fresh snacks are available. This year they have an outside vender who makes burgers or hot dogs available on campus at selected hours. The student government is active with planned activities throughout the year, most free to students. There are no athletics associated with this school, and only a few clubs available.

My experience with Carteret Community College has been a great one. They have offered classes that I need, both seated and online. Many of my previous credits transferred toward my current program without difficulty. There were a few that did not initially transfer, but after talking with the counselor, they were allowed and now count toward my required credits. I have found the instructors to be knowledgeable and flexible when emergencies or problems arise.

They have everything that you would need or they will help you to find what you need to complete a task.

Transferring would be easy if there were not barrier classes you had to take after a placement test. I have been stuck in the same math class since I enrolled in the college two years ago and I don't wish to remain any longer.

A C at best. This college has the potential to have a better selection of teachers for the students who so desperately need them. The sad part is they've had to settle for so much and revert for more "cost-effective" methods which sacrifice the quality of education received at this institution. I am disappointed especially in the Math and Spanish departments and I have made little to no progression due to lack of assistance and communication between teachers. Of course, there are a fair share of teachers who do their jobs correctly.

classes are very flexible except in the summer, i have to take on-line courses because there isn't much offered in the way of seated classes, but i will make due

I haven't been to school in a long time. No one judged me for my age or academic level.
College Junior 2013-02-28T03:47:31Z
I find it difficult to register for classes at times because it takes a while to get grades in from past instructors. The transfer process is very simple.
College Junior 2013-02-28T03:43:31Z
I enjoy online classes because they allow me to work full time and have a flexible schedule. It also decreases the amount of " busy " work you get sometimes while in the traditional classroom. It is still just as easy to ask questions and speak with the instructor, so it's not like you're going it alone.

I have said time and time again, that for a community college to have this much dedication to their online courses is amazing! They offer more online classes than most universities! They are very attentive and you really work for your grade, just as if you were going in to a class. I very much enjoy the teachers. They are very open and available to provide you with any information you need. I very much enjoy online courses at Carteret.
