Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Residence halls are on the whole are well-equipped, well-lit, warm enough and bug-free. North campus dorms are primarily for underclassmen with the exception of a few buildings. The north campus dorms were renovated recently and the south campus dorms are all presently being renovated. There is a type of dorm room and suite for nearly every type of person. Freshmen are required to live in doubles or quads which are well-furnished and have Internet and phone lines. Most upperclassmen live in suites with single rooms that include their own mini-fridges and share a common living room; each is well-furnished, and each room contains the same connection capabilities.

Economically speaking, the price students pay for living in campus housing seems high compared with the price that a student would pay living off campus. Laundry is expensive, the kitchens are tiny and awkward and the furniture is uncomfortable. Location and residence life benefits (asked for or not) seem to buffer the sticker shock after students calculate that they’re paying a whopping $550 per month on average.

Its Worth the Wait

Freshmen dorms are much better than other colleges but the really nice dorms are in the village, available to Juniors and Seniors. Greek housing is also available, and very good.
