Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Strictness begins with RAs and RDs, resident assistants and resident directors who are responsible for ensuring that everything going on in the dorm is safe and running smoothly. To put it diplomatically, certain RAs and RDs have been known to take their job a step further, which is where contention among students arises. Students are aware of particular authorities that look to catch students in the act, but in most cases using common sense saves you trouble.

The strictness on campus regarding alcohol consumption is mild and the number of witch-hunter and tattle-tale types small. Most students who consume alcohol illegally seem to do it fairly inconspicuously or at least give the advice to conduct “business” in that manner to maintain covertness. The same goes for drugs, though drugs are far less prevalent than alcohol. In general, campus authority employs the “Don’t Show Us” policy.

Not a Fan.

A lot of people doing nothing wrong get reprimanded and the general vibe of the school is riddled with repetition, lack of self, and police control. You can't walk more than a block on campus without seeing at least four different police vehicles. The social life here is severely lacking due to the culture developed around the school.

Go Forth! Experience!

There's really no such thing as strictness as long as you're smart about it. Obviously, don't throw parties in your room because if the RA catches you, you get written up. But getting written up is nothing serious. It's easy to drink without getting caught and even if you do, there is a no-tell policy if you're over 18. Even if you get hospitalized for alcohol poisoning: no-tell. Although your parents may notice the ridiculously expensive bill...

Very Relaxed

You have to try very hard to get into trouble. Sometimes you'll have a high strung roommate or RA but in general as long as you are not destroying something you will be fine.
