College Prowler Take

Cleveland offers an impressive array of restaurants that appeal to any taste or budget. Whether Case students crave healthy fare, comfort food or exotic dishes, they can satiate their appetite with off-campus dining. The locations and options are more than sufficient and in addition to providing an excellent campus dining alternative, most locations feature some sort of entertainment. The McDonald-owned attempt at redeeming their unhealthy image is Mexican-style Chipotle, which many Case students joke is their main food group. BW3, Valentinos, Grum’s Sub Shoppe, and Amazing Wok are also big favorites.

The options are endless, thank goodness. The off-campus dining options more than compensate in variety and palatability for campus dining. Coventry is the most convenient location for good and good-for-you restaurants. The amount of variety off-campus is almost suspicious. Campus Dining could make a pretty penny if they decreased their variety and made a deal with local vendors for a cut of resultant profits.

Coventry has lots of options

A

Coventry provides a variety of dining experiences. There is a wonderful Thai resturant called Mint Cafe that is incredibly affordable. Tommy's is an excellent vegetarian dining experience with the most delicious milkshakes in the area. BD's Mongolian Barbeque is slightly pricey for dinner, but lunch is quite affordable. At BD's, you are able to create your own stir-fry. There is a Chipotle for affordable and gourmet Mexican food.

Coventry Provides Diverse Deliciousness

A

A short Greenie ride from campus, Coventry Village is known for its quirky atmosphere and wide variety of restaurants. Tommy's is a fun cafe that has delicious vegetarian meals and incredible milkshakes. The Winking Lizard is a popular bar hangout for upperclassmen that can boast amazing burgers. And of course, Chipotle is revered by students who crave gigantic burritos and guac for a great price. Several restaurants, like Phoenix Coffee and bd's Mongolian Barbeque, are nestled below street level and passersby can look down into them.

Great Food but Far Away

C+

Unless you have a car or a friend with a car you're not going to get very far off campus. Downtown there are great restaurants but expensive. Coventry on the other hand is very affordable but just as hard to get to.

Little Italy and Coventry- Great Dining Options, Especially for Dates

A

Two surrounding areas near Case are awesome if you want to get away from the bland cafeteria food, and both are within walking distance or Case provides transportation (greenies) to get there. Little Italy is great for a girls night out or a first date. Trattoria on the Hill has amazing Italian food, La Dolce Vita has ladies nights where you get a free entree if you pay for a drink, and Presti's and Anthony's both have amazing gelato. Coventry is a bit farther away, but definitely doable if you take a greenie. There is a multitude of options there, from college staples like Chipotle and Jimmy John's, but also lots of Asian, sushi, and burger options. There's a lot of bars in Coventry, so the 21 and over crowd dominate the weekend scene here.

Case is right next to Cleveland’s...

Case is right next to Cleveland’s Little Italy. Mama Santa’s is good for cheap Italian food and pizza, but there are fancier restaurants there, too. La Dolce Vita is free for ladies if you buy any kind of drink on Tuesday nights, and Gilly’s Not Just Donuts has great donuts! Tommy’s in Coventry makes the best milkshakes.
